Monkey Paw Mountains

My family made a trip to the monkey fingers canyon for a hike. We were really happy that we made the decision. Incredible views of the rock formations and so much fun hiking up the ridge and coming back through the narrow gorge. A local guide offered to show us the way and was really helpful in pointing out certain formations. Mohammed grew up in the town and had a very funny sense of humour. Making the effort to visit was worth it for a few hour hike.

Before we headed out to Ouarzazate, my mother and I wanted to make a little hike in the Gorges du Dades. As we saw these bizarre rock formations, we decided to stop at the view point near Tamellalt to get our plan into practice. After we more or less randomly found the access to the canyon, a young man from the village appeared. It was Hussein, who guided us through the gorge (otherwise we'd probably turned around way before we'd got to the panaroma spot over the village) and told us a lot of things about him, the people from the village and the life as a Berber in general. What a heartwarming guy and local hero, he made this hike an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much for your company and taking your time to bring my mother safely through the impressive gorge. I can only hope that others will have the same luck too and get a guided tour as we did.

We advise you to go with a local guide. Dades Gorges is a great place for a few hours trekking.

If you are in Dades Gorge, it would be a shame to miss this slot canyon (it is free). Rivals the ones in Utah. At some points it was skinny enough for just 1 person. It is highly doable if you are in decent physical shape and are used to this kind of activity. If not, highly recommend a guide who can also take you to the top of Dades Gorge. We had Mohammed as our guide, who grew up a nomad and knew the mountains very well. Overall a great activity. Dades Gorge is strenuous, Monkey Paw slot canyon is intermediate. The 2 activities on the same day makes for a long but gratifying day!

Absolutelly stunnig rocks. Huge and lat cated over beautiful , green Wadi Dadis. Must see in Marroco

Trekking molto bello, meglio se con guida. Ad un certo punto il percorso sul letto del fiume sembra ostruito da massi. In realtà bisogna arrampicarsi su un albero e saltare su una roccia per continuare. Si arriva sul crinare del monte con una vista bellissima sulle monkey finghers

Niebywałe formacje skalne na pewno zwrócą waszą uwagę podczas podróży w stronę wąwozu. Jest duży plac parkingowy by spokojnie móc je podziwiać

Formación geológica muy curiosa que recuerda a las manos de los primates. Aunque la luz no permitía apreciar bien las formas, las vistas son impresionantes.

An zwei Stellen denkt man es geht nicht weiter. Es geht!
Am Hochplateau angekommen ist man über ein Esel Pfad in 20 Minuten zurück an der Straße.
Den alten Führer mit seinem Stock der jeden irgendwo auf dem Weg abfängt am besten ignorieren. Könnte sehr teuer werden!!!

Formación rocosa con siluetas que recuerdan a los dedos de un mono, de ahí el nombre de 'Montañas dedo de mono'. Sin duda un lugar enigmático en el que hacer una parada, disfrutar de las vistas y realizar unas fotos. Desde la misma carretera se puede observar esta formación rocosa, aunque hay un mirador muy cómodo en el que poder aparcar.
