Virtakas iezis

Ancient petroglyphs in the forest. Be aware: there are no signs and no clear paths. Bring a walking stick or find a sturdy one on the ground to use because there are several steep areas and the ground is wet. YOU WILL NOT FIND IT without a navigation system with you. We used Google maps in our phone. We parked down some random dirt road where Google told us too then just walked in the direction of the pin. We kept almost giving up and thinking for sure the location was wrong but it's not. Just keep going. You'll get there. Round trip took us about an hour and fifteen minutes.

Ļoti skaista vieta,un dabas skati. Esmu skolas laikā, ekskursijā braukusi šeit. Cepuri nost, ļoti skaisti viss ir atjaunots,un tās pašas klintis. To gan nevar aizmirst. Žēl ka ar skolas biedriem nav kopīgas fotogrāfijas.🎶😍🎶😍🎶🤗

Not the best signposted place in the world, but a fun detour. If you follow Google Maps down the random dirt roads nearest to this point, you'll be in a good place to start. You can actually drive a bit further down the road (which runs beside the power lines) than the map suggests, but it doesn't make too much difference. Easy enough to find the trails towards the cliff (and beyond). Worth the detour and not too difficult a hike. Wouldn't take a fancy car down the dirt roads though.
