Goldingen Room

Went to Goldingen Room for a dinner as per my sister’s recommendation. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious. Tried starters, soups and pizzas - the pizza deserves a separate praise! Will definitely come back again and highly recommend to do so to anyone visiting beautiful Kuldīga.

This was an excellent discovery that almost makes the two hour drive from Riga worth it all by itself. Warm atmosphere, decor and welcome ; great choice of original dishes ; wonderful local beer ; top Italian Merlot. We went for pizzas, which were delicious, but the rest of the menu merits far closer attention. The ‘Barley’ starter was a winner. Thank you - and for the toys available for toddlers!

The place is run by a family which means service and stuff is always welcoming and nice.

They have also accommodation services- “NOLIKTAVA No5” and “ Divi baloži”.

NOLIKTAVA No 5 is a must stay boutique hotel with a rustic industrial style and cool oldschool Bang & Olufsen stereo in each room!

Very busy during summers, though Kuldiga is a destination worth to visit during colorful autumn 🍂 and frosty winter ❄ times!

Fantastic pizza!

I had very low expectations regarding their ability to prepare authentic, Italian cuisine, given my experience with other Latvian pizzerias. But this doubt was put to shame, as they make perhaps the most authentic pizza I have ever had outside of Italy. Or it is at the very least in the top ten.

I ordered the Margherita and what I was served, reminded me of how it is made in the best places in Naples. The crust was tasty and had a great texture – which is good, as there is so much of it that the pizze look deceptively small, when checking the pictures.
The cheese they used was good, not perfect, but good enough and the sauce was delicious. The only problem was that the base was practically non-existent, so with such an excessive use of cheese and sauce, it was a bit nauseating eating the “middle part” on its own. But adding some of it to the crust and then eating together turned out to make it a very enjoyable experience, so at least I was given enough bread with the order – I just had to eat the pizza untraditionally to wreak the benefits thereof.

My companion ordered the pasta and I can’t say that it looked as authentic as my pizza, but I was told that it was good so that is what counts.

The prices were average for Latvia (not any cheaper than Riga) and the service was fine.
The atmosphere of the restaurant depended on where you were sitting.
We got a table in a room full of families with young children, who were running around and playing with an assortment of toys. The other room (which was fully occupied, when we arrived) was much more quiet, stylish and looked more “Professional”, whereas the room we sat in felt more like a countryside living room – charming in its own right, but it did not really have a restaurant-vibe to it.

I can really recommend you check this place out if you are ever in town.

Amazing! Food was excellent, especially pizzas, service too. Everyone was nice and welcoming. This cafe is dog-friendly!

We had breakfast here as part of our room package at Noliktava No.5 hotel.

The breakfast was simply spectacular, absolutely delicious. Some modern twists on classic Latvian breakfast dishes. My partner is Latvian and she was blown away by the dishes we had. Reminders of childhood but made to a whole new level.

The service from the staff was top rate too.

Very delicious mussels, nice service and a beautiful place. Limoncello aperol might not be my most favourite drink but that depends on your taste.

Impressive menu and good vegan options. Genuinely some of the best food that I have had in Latvia. The presentation of the food and the wine list were also very good.

Don’t forget to book a table in the busiest times, you might need to wait otherwise. Delicious food and pizza. Great service.

The brunch is beautifully presented and the creative pizzas as good as the pizzas I tried in Naples. What a fantastic asset for this beautiful town!

Absolutely the best pizza in Latvia (except Street pizza in Riga :) ), interior is full of nice details. Owner has studied in Italy and brought here knowledge of authentic tastes. Nice exception, compared to usually stuffy food in rural cities. Consistent quality over the years, no disappointment so far!
And view of lovely Kuldīga makes this place “must visit”

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The interior, the atmosphere and the staff were all wonderful. The menu is the best of all. The chef really works hard to present the food in a very beautiful manner and the flavours are truly amazing and the selection is refreshing and interesting. We tried the Rhubarb sparkling wine from the Abava winery and were pleasantly surprised and delighted. I will definitely be returning!

One of the best restaurants in all of Kuldiga. A must attend if you’re visiting or in town. Very friendly staff and food is quick to arrive. I went there twice during my time in Kuldiga. Had a 3 course meal and enjoyed every single item! My favourite is the lamb which just melts in your mouth. It’s cooked to perfection. And the vegetables compliment it so well. I wouldn’t recommend the pizza as it was just okay and nothing amazing.

We liked everything- the interior of the place, the tidiness, the staff (friendly, professional), the food (absolutely tasty- soups, the pasta, the risotto), the ☕. And the place is dog friendly, which makes it even more special:).

Very delicious and well made pizzas also having some out of the ordinary ingredients for specific pizzas, so be prepared for that. But they taste great and dough is properly good.

Exceptionally good food! Pizza is baked using Neapolitan flour and it's very delicious.
Poor choice of beer, only Valmiermuiža on tap, and several IPA-like and Belgian bottled. Wish they had Jaunpils beer on tap, too.

Great service, enjoyable food. At the time of the review they only served outside due to Covid rearrangements and were quite packed in a Friday afternoon. Reserve a table ahead if possible.

I recommend this place!It has AMAZING pizza and food.I really loved the pizza here it was really good!
Also if your a tourist, the service is astonishing the servants can speak to 2-3 languages if not 4 so I recommend and give 5 stars!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
