We came all the way from Tallinn to visit this place. On arrival you just have to buy a ticket and then it is up to you how far you would like to drive. This place has lovely touch of human but in the same time you can feel like deep in the forest - depends what you walk. The place has nice stairs so you do not have to climb the mud. Also awesome views to the river and really awesome tall trees. There are activities on the road, nice picnic place we found next to the river and interesting sculptures.
So, if you need to gather energy but are afraid of walking to the wild forest- it is nice pick.

Beautiful nature park. Great for exploring new places, picnics, having fun with children. My preferred 10km walk route.

Easy to reach from a town nearby. You can use the main road to reach Skaņaiskalns directly or the nature path slighly off the road near the river to explore amazing views of the nature.

If you are in that part of Latvia it is a crime not to visit. It is very cheap, it is extremely beautiful and you can have a lovely swim in the river if you feel like it.

Good skeeing track (biathlon) few small maoutains, up and down, you can rent skees at Xcentrs.

Great place for a walk, with some amazing views! Less than 1.5h walk in one direction and in the end there's a marvelous place for a picknick, but then it's better to drive in with a car (costs additional 5 EUR).

Great walk in the forest, wonderful, relaxing and easy to do with the kids. Nice surprises and some educacion too. Totally recomendable plan!
