So glad I found this place by chance, I was looking for a place for breakfast with a pleasant and relaxing work space and I arrived at a magical cafe where everything is accurate down to the smallest details. The coffee was perfect and the breakfast was one of the best I had in Sri Lanka. And the quiet atmosphere and personal service complete the experience. I will undoubtedly come back here a lot more - thanks for the experience🤍

Came here and hung out for a couple of hours. Short walk away from the main road and you find this sweet cafe/hotel/hang out spot. Had the V60 coffee which was to die for, i have it up there on my top three list of best brews Ive had. Absolutely delicious. Wife had an iced latte and really liked it. Location is very cool, architecture of the house is aswell. Highly recommend to go here if you're in the area. Wont find a cup of coffee this good for this price anytime soon.

Gorgeous location, overlooking the rice padi under the palm trees. Such a perfect place to relax and have a cocktail and some food by the pool. I was here on a Sunday and there was a day party with a DJ: incredible atmosphere.

Highly recommend! Stayed for 3 nights in December. Peaceful spot overlooking rice paddy fields to the front and rear. Spotlessly clean and very stylish rooms. A small pool to take a dip in or laze beside. The cafe downstairs is open 8-4, so other holiday makers come for the beautiful coffee and or food and will often stay to use the pool too.
15 minute walk to the lovely Kabalana beach where you can rent surfboards etc. Loads of good food spots in the area.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The location is perfect, close enough to town to walk but still surrounded by nature. It’s a great place to work inside or chill by the pool outside. The food and service is fantastic and the rooms are huge and have everything you need, including a kitchenette area/ outdoor kitchen on the balcony. This place has transformed my time in Ahangama and I really recommend it!

it's an amazing place, we decided to extend our stay for another few days. wonderful interiors, a very comfortable bed, great cosmetics and the necessary things on the terrace for cutting my favorite mangoes for dinner. Additionally, the owners organize yoga classes which were at the highest level. I should also mention the cafe. we used it every day, drinking great quality coffee and eating great breakfasts and lunches. I'd love to come back here!

We didn't stay here, but we popped in for food and coffee which was great. It was laptop friendly and had lovely views of the rice paddy. The interior design is fab. Worth a visit!

Really good menu quality and top coffee for Sri Lanka. The owners put attention in every detail and you can feel their passion and hard work. Barista Konstantin is very knowledgeable and passionate about specialty coffee and processes which is the most important skill . Above all the food drink and service, there is the vibe and the view in this place - trully magical. It is somehow protected from the heat of the day and there is a very beautiful outdoor space and pool to chill. Will be back next year.
To improve: maybe some coffee table games and kids menu. Or just one item, at least fries or yogurt? 😉

We didn’t say at the hotel but came for breakfast and dinner many times.
We really liked the food. Simple, healthy and just very yummy. Cocktails are nice also (try the mojito).
The staff and service is also great, polite, quick and always available.
Special kudos to the owner who came to our table for a chat and to know how we liked the food.

Definitely place to stay in South Coast of Sri Lanka. It’s close to surf and diving spots, hotel is in the middle of the jungle so you don’t hear noise from the streets. Very aesthetic interior, helpful staff and delicious food. 5 stars obviously.

I tried the Vietnamese Iced coffee & it was excellent. Loved the warmth and charm of the place. The RED refresher/ smoothie was thick & full of flavour. The food also looks & smells amazing. I think I'm going to like it here ♥

I love this cafe and the hotel. 100% the best coffee in ahangama and the surrounding area. The food is delicious, chicken boxy and the granola bowl are my favs, with a view of the paddies and a swimming pool. Its an ideal location, away from the noisy local train but close enough to the ocean. Staff are really attentive and friendly. Other highlights…the decor, incredibly comfy beds, balcony and spacious rooms.

Total paradise overlooking a paddy field to have a perfectly made speciality coffee. Everything about this place has been designed with a serious attention to detail. Really beautiful place, slightly tricky to find but definitely worth a visit.

Black Honey is the most beautiful spot in Sri Lanka! Both the room and the cafe were lovely and had a beautiful atmosphere with delicious food and the best coffee I had out here. Every member of staff are so friendly and helpful. It’s also the perfect location for a wander down to the beach and more touristy spots, whilst being peaceful enough that you get a great night of sleep (the bed is so comfortable!). This is really a must visit place!

Great location away from the main road and into the rice fields. The food is next level and there's a fun pool party on sunday

We stayed at black honey for six nights and enjoyed every bit of it! We loved the perks of living in a coffee place thats also has rooms and thus we tried almost every dish on the menu. Our favorite was the “Okonimi Benni” and the “Scotched Egg”. We also enjoyed the different types of coffee, which has a great quality. The staff and the owners of the place were always friendly and helpful and also gave us some recommendations for the area. The location is tucked away from the crowds, which we enjoyed as well, as Ahangama can be loud and crowded sometimes. You can get to black honey by a five minutes tuktuk ride. We would definitely visit again and can highly recommend this place.

My friends and I visited this place once. It was an amazing experience. Staff is great, coffee and food was also amazing. Small pool, rice fields, outdoor facilities - all is great. Probably will visit it again

Cool place!!! Best coffee in down south, good atmosphere, very beautiful. Can swim in the pool overlooking the rice plantations and have a great day.
The owners are wonderful, every little detail is made with love. Definitely will come back here.
