Fish Point Weligama SeaFood Restaurant

Today was our third dinner at this lovely place right at the beach.

We tried the fish, crab, prawns and calamari.
Every dish was very unique and gorgeous. They work with fresh ingredients and different herbs.

The waiters are so friendly and helpful. They will help you with the side dishes and recommend the best options.

We will definitely come back to this place. I would rather say it was the best seafood restaurant in Sri Lanka. You have to try.

If you love seafood and want something affordable this is the right place! It serves fresh fish and is right next to the beach! We had 2 lobsters, a big fish (red sniper), 1 kg of shrimps, calamari, and some appetizers (grilled tomatoes- grilled pineapples- a salad- rice and fried) and ended up paying 26000 pesos (80$)
It s not a fancy place but it s great seafood! We went twice in 3 days. I recommend it.
P.S : always negotiate on the price of fish before getting seated.

We had the opportunity to choose your own fish with individual guidance. The combination of fresh fish served with rice and the option to order grilled vegetables sounds delicious. The direct beachfront setting and attentive service, including providing mosquito spray, surely contribute to a pleasant experience. Shiral did an excellent job as a waiter. We had an amazing experience at FISHPOINT in Weligama.

Dining right by the beach and being able to personally choose our fish with guidance added a unique touch.

We opted for a Tiger fish, half a kilo of shrimps, and a crab – all of which were outstanding, cooked quickly, and incredibly delicious. The service was excellent, addressing our needs, especially with mosquitoes around.

Shiral provided exceptional assistance. Highly recommended – we'll definitely be returning for more.

Perfect. The fish was cooked beautifully, so much flavour and the atmosphere was lovely and laidback. Candle lit dinner on the beach, with your own choice of freshly caught seafood.
All the staff were super friendly and helpful also.

We visited this place like a month ago. Almost everything was perfect. Food was delicious. Staff was super supportive. Prices were much reasonable. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking to have a good dining experience beside the beach.

We had a seafood platter with grilled lobster, crab, calamari, whole fish, prawns and side salads of grilled pineapple and onion, tomato and chilli. The crab was the best, with prawns closely behind. The grilled pineapple is delicious. Loved the experience of eating fresh seafood on the beach.

We ate 1kg of shrimp 🦐 (around 30-35 pieces). Marinated shrimp was really delicious and had enough sauce to eat with rice 💖

Delicious fresh fish for great prices! We paid Rs 5000 for half a kilo of prawns, calamari and a grouper. The staff were very helpful and efficient and it was great to eat facing the ocean. We tried other fish restaurants nearby but this one was by far the best

One of the best seafood meals I’ve ever had….and I’m a hard one to please when it comes to seafood. Cooked perfectly and each dish had its own tasty sauce. Simple and delicious. Drinks were surprisingly good too.

I’d recommend lots of insect repellent esp if you go at dusk. And if you get queasy around uncooked seafood, send someone else in your party to order the food. The hygiene could be improved (did not see any ice keeping the seafood cold, and swarms of flies were on the raw seafood) and it stank quite badly. But the food was excellent!! And we only paid $75 for 4 ppl and had fish, calamari, oysters, octopus, shrimp and crab. French fries were excellent too and well seasoned.

We went twice.
Right where the fisherman’s sell their fish and with tables on the beach the place is super nice. We had crab, different grilled fishes, prawns, calamari, salad… everything was cooked to perfection, and when I say perfection I mean NOT overcooked seafood and fish like is it usually in Sri Lanka.
It was PERFECT. No complaints at all. Servers were very attentive and nice.

If you’re looking for a cute place to eat fish in the bay this is it!
The food is fresh, the staff is nice and you eat with your feet in the sand!
Note we came in low season and the fishes they cook have bright lucent eyes!

I love this place! Try king prawn here you will remember them for the whole your life. Always fresh sea food, great variety of fish. Reasonable prices.

Well worth the wait for the fish you selected to be cooked

Excellent alfresco seafood dining at a very reasonable price.
We went back three times in a row. You pick your fish and they can suggest how it’s cooked or you can ask to have it prepared your way. For instance deep fried, grilled, soup, with garlic, butter, ginger, lime etc. They also have a good selection of seafood that you can eat right on the beach with the waves lapping at your feet.

Amazing fresh seafood for good price. Only octopus was too gummy. The rest was super good!

Really great fresh seafood, 3000 for a kilo of cooked big shrimp. Such great value. Cooked in a nice ginger kinda Chinese style sauce, not too spicy, with a few small veg mixed in. Large beer 800 and mega cold, lovely staff. Pick your own fish and they will cook it. Zero complaints. The bathroom is also awesome, such a great idea on how to go about having a loo on the beach. A huge water tank, conctrle floor, shower, plants, urinal and loo. Sink had no water at the time I was there, but I was very pleasantly supprised by the whole thing. Good on you guys.

Visited 5 times during my stay in Weligama. The value for money here is unbeatable.
The sea food here is the best I ever tasted and the prices are so cheap.
I tried the Shrimps, Tuna and Bass.
