Silvas Surf Home

We stayed 4 nights at Silvas Surf Home and we really enjoyed our time there!! :)
Unfortunately we booked a room without AC (which was our fault) but it was no problem to spontaneously switch the room. The garden is really nice and we also had access to a little kitchen where we could use a fridge and it is also possible to cook small dishes there.
The only negative point was that the wifi didn't work quite well but that was not a big problem for us.
The beach, bus station, train station and a big supermarket are all located at a short walking distance.
Silva was always really friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay there again! :)

Amazing low-budget place to stay in Weligama. Advantages:
- Basic rooms but with everything you need and comfortable beds;
- en-suite bathrooms;
- hot water;
- some rooms have AC;
- shared kitchenette for every two rooms (there are total 4 rooms);
- beautiful shady garden with a lot of birds, cheapmonks, monkeys;
- three nice outside sitting areas, hammock;
- amazing helpful hosts;
- quite location;
- 5 min walk to the beach, 15 to Marriot hotel; 7 to the center with all the shops and wine stores;)))

Coming back for 4 years. Most of other guests coming back too which is the best recommendation❤

Perfect place to stay in Weligama. Breakfast is huge, with local foods, fruits and tea. Silva himself is very friendly, hospitality and everyway a good host. We booked first 3 nights, but stayed for one week and will be back. Totally recommended this place for everybody! -Mikko and Mirja from Finland

Good budget accommodation for the young traveller. The host Gimhan is a great local guide who can help you get whatever you need. Recommend you stay and have the fish BBQ with the family and other guests!

The da Silvas were amazing hosts, a very caring and kind family. Gimhan and Sujhith organised an amazing whale watching trip for Rs2500 and free tour of a white tea plantation. The homecooked fish dinner by grandmother was amazing, and the breakfasts were always great. The evenings playing carram and drinking arrak will be remebered for a long time!

After a very hot room and an isolated room this was my best stay in Weligama for sure (but I think without these two rooms before as well): the owners (whole family actually) are amazing! Só friendly, interested, flexbile and generous. She did laundry for me (not free), very clean, room as well. No so hot, comfortable, quiet, good location. Chill area outside with hammock. The only thing I missed: some plates and a cutting knife in the kitchen, and something to sleep under (I used my towel now). Furthermore: perfect!!

This is a warm friendly and sincere place to learn about Sri Lanka,Silva is an excellent host and a very engaging Sri Lankan.

Was eine schöne Erfahrung!

Die Anlage verfügt über 5 Zimmer, davon sind 3 mir AC und 2 ohne. Alle Zimmer sind auf dem Hinterhof und extrem ruhig, auch tagsüber.
Die Zimmer sind schlicht ausgestattet, aber es ist wirklich alles da was man benötigt, zur Abwechslung auch Mal Hänger für die Klamotten, genug Steckdosen, Moskitonetz you name it!

Man läuft maximal 5 Min zum Strand, dort gibt es auch zahlreiche Fischrestaurants. Weitere 10 Minuten am Strand entlang kommt man zu den Surfspots, die Lage empfand ich daher als gut. Der Supermarkt ist 7-10 min entfernt.

Silver ist so unfassbar lieb, dass es mir schon manchmal unangenehm war, du fragst nach irgendwas und er fährt sofort los es kaufen, ich bin da zwei Mal drauf reingefallen😅 wir hatten sehr coole Gespräche, uns abends manchmal auf ein Bier zusammengesetzt etc.

Die Gastfreundschaft ist unfassbar, um das zu Untermauern ein Pärchen wollte 3 Tage bleiben daraus wurden 10. Ein anderer Gast wollte 1 Woche bleiben und ist jetzt seit 1 Monat dort.
Das Frühstück sehr gut. Und das WiFi funktioniert gut, verliert aber ab und an den Empfang, fürs Arbeiten eher ungünstig ansonsten aber ausreichend. Ca 6/7min entfernt wäre der Plan B - Coworking Space.

Würde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Mali sme tú česť bývať u pána Silvu cely mesiac. Neskutočne ochotná rodina. 😇 Izby sú čisté, voňavé, v kuchyni tak akurát vybavenie na prípravu jedál. Navyše pán Silva je veľmi ochotný takže vám poskytne čokoľvek navyše čo potrebujete. Skvelá poloha! Blízko naozaj všade na pešo a pritom kľudné a tiché miesto. Pokiaľ hľadáte súkromie s domácou atmosférou určite odporúčam toto miesto 😇 My sme tu dokonca absolvovali aj narodeninovú oslavu.. 😊

Silva ist total nett und hat uns warmen Herzens empfangen. Wir haben viele gute Gespräche geführt und wurden bestens versorgt. In ein paar Gehminuten ist man am Strand oder in der Stadt. Die Räume sind sauber und geräumig. Das Frühstück war super lecker.

Очень дружелюбные и приятные люди. Спасибо Гимха за теплый прием. Твои родители и ты делали для на всё возможное, чтобы нам было комфортно.

Очень гостеприимные и радушные хозяева. Я приехал раньше времени и пока готовили мою комнату, меня угостили фруктами и чаем!

Super vriendelijke mensen die oprecht in je zijn geïnteresseerd!! Schone kamer, groot bed :), en ze hebben een leuk spel wat ze graag met de gasten spelen!
