The hotel is situated in the Weligama Bay full of surfers and beautiful beach scenery, away from the craziness of Colombo. The sunsets are amazing and the hotel is a nice slice of heaven. The rooms are all sea view so it's really cool to wake up in the morning to a beach view full of surfers. The staff are plentiful and attentive. The staff in the Weligama Kitchen noticed that we liked a certain dish and they went out of their way to make it for us for breakfast the next morning. They even showed us how to prepare the traditional hopper dish, local style because I had not idea what toppings to use. The waiter brought me his version of a hopper with toppings and showed me how to eat it, and it was delicious! The rooms were spacious and beautiful. Would highly recommend this place and would come back to this hotel. Beware of the "surf instructors" on the beach. They are not with the hotel but they were fiercely competitive for business and were even yelling at each other while my children were trying to do their surf lessons. To appease their competition, the instructor tried to charge us double so that they could split the profit with the other guy. Anyway, they weren't with the hotel but just be aware! The hotel is amazing!

Sorry for the late reply guys. This post is made after 5 years. Lots must have changed. You guys then service, location and rooms are the best. We came for our honeymoon and it was the best service you guys gave us.

We are expecting to come with our baby during the vacation as it has been sometime now. I love the architecture within the room how the bathrooms are connected and all. Pool is really nice with the beach.

Best hotel in Sri Lanka, neat clean and with outstanding service. I come here every year since the opening and it never loses its allure.
Rooms are spacious and well appointed, pool is gorgeous.

One of the finest resort to stay! Stayed here for two nights and three days! Wonderful hospitality! Started with a warm welcome and pleasant stay with scenic views from the resort room! The beachside view is very nice! Staffs were helpful and kind! Buffet is the best here with lots of varieties!

This is a highly reccomended place! It's right in front of Weligama Beach, which Is great for surfing! The hotel is so chill and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and Helpful. They good restaurants, bars and pools inside.

Also a Kid's play area where you can leave them there while you chill by the pool.

The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet has endless options for every taste and absolutely delicious! The in dining food was delicious, we ordered twice!

Definitely worth a stay for resort style visit to Weligama!

Great hotel, fantastic food and fantastic facilities. The hotel is my located in the middle of the surfing beach, with many restaurants in the surrounding. We went with two kids, one of them non swimmer. The kids pool is approximately 90 cm deep, ideal for a four-year-old. There is also a small pool with a slide, but it might be a stretch to call this a pool :) all in all fantastic experience, highly recommended

Overall hotel has a Good service.
We were welcomed with the welcome drinks in reception.
The room had a luxurious amenities and bed was comfortable too.
Both the breakfast and dinner had a huge varieties of foods, and were of different cuisines too. Chefs were helpful and willing to provide our needs.

An exceptional Marriott with standout services from all the staff. Loved the morning meditation, evening tai chi on the lawn, and the steam room. The pools were nice and the view from the 10th floor was spectacular.

From start to finish, everything was impeccable - the service, the prime location, the well-appointed rooms, and the panoramic views that greeted us in morning. The breakfast spread was delightful, and the team managing the breakfast service deserves special mention for their prompt and attentive service, ensuring our dining experience was exceptional.

The pool and direct beach access, with the added perk of surfing opportunities, added an extra layer of enjoyment. The sight of lush green coconut trees from both the elevator and corridors enhanced the already captivating ambiance of the resort.

Special commendation goes to Ms. Lochana for her exceptional service in upgrading our room and giving us a comprehensive tour of all the facilities. Her efforts truly elevated our experience, showcasing the dedication to guest satisfaction.

Very hospitable staff , always on their toes. The resort has an amazing location with a private beach, Mirissa beach is a few minutes away.
The pools are neatly maintained and the food is amazing.
Baby friendly too.

Our best stay in Sri Lanka !

This is an upmarket hotel on the beach with excellent views over the bay. The staff are all friendly and very professional. The restaurants offer a wide choice of high quality food and I would recommend this hotel.

Excellent service from staff. Personally attended us in the restaurant and checked what we needed and provided us with suggestions too. Rooms are very much modern and eye pleasing. Buffet too was excellent. Had a good variety. Beach was also clean and swimmable which makes the stay even better.

The service at the resort, particularly from Dimuthu at the restaurant, to the diligence shown by the staff at the Pool Club has been nothing short of exceptional.

I feel privileged to experience what the resort has to offer. I'll be back and I'll promote your establishment with pride.

One of the best resorts I have been to till date. Their rooms, location, views, service, staff and food everything was beyond our expectations. Their private beach access, pool area, bar and restaurant area everything was just superb and flawless

The Weligama Bay Marriott has been one of the best properties I have stayed at. The Marriott hospitality never disappoints and starts from the moment you walk in the door, throughout the stay at the hotel. Being a gold status member, it’s refreshing and much appreciated when team members recognise you and greet you with their warm hospitality.
The front office team led by Suranga in particular, were highly organised and efficient right from the check-in, and throughout my stay here.
Chalitha, Asanka and the team responsible for high tea were exceptional. Whilst non-traditional, this was best high tea I have had in a while! Flavours, variety and textures were incredible and left me wanting more…
The rooms, the view, the amenities, the facilities, are top notch and second to none. How this Marriott team caters to the whims and fancies of the diverse guests is mind boggling! It’s clear the leadership is good, and the team focussed on providing a great customer experience.

Enjoyed our stay. The rooms were great. Friendly and helpful service. Our only concern was that for the dinner didn’t have enough veg options. So next time we visit, hope to see an improvement in that.

She booked spa for us, reserved dinner tables for us, checked on us now and then, arranged complimentary food for us when we missed breakfast and most importantly arranged a special surprise celebration for my wife’s birthday.
3. Raghu Nagendran - Sous Chef. He took personal attention to our culinary requirements. He went over and beyond and took care of our meals whilst he was on his break time.
