My visit to Sakkotai Cape left me enchanted by the natural beauty and tranquility it offered. The cape's pristine coastline and panoramic views of the ocean created a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The scenic beauty, with the waves crashing against the rocks, painted a mesmerizing picture of nature's grandeur.

The historical significance of Sakkotai Cape added depth to the experience, providing a glimpse into the rich heritage of the region. Exploring the ancient structures and remnants of the past was both educational and evocative.

The ambiance was further enhanced by the calm sea breeze, making it an ideal spot for contemplation and relaxation. The well-maintained surroundings and cleanliness of the area showcased a commendable commitment to preserving its natural charm.

While the lack of commercialization was a refreshing aspect, it's essential for visitors to be mindful of preserving the site's ecological balance. Sakkotai Cape stands as a hidden gem, offering a perfect retreat for those seeking a peaceful connection with nature and history. It's a place where time seems to slow down, allowing one to appreciate the beauty of the world around us.

Not a crowded place. Have a nice view there. But don’t expect much in here. You can stop by here to click few photos. No separate parking available here, but can manage to park by side of the road.

This is the Nothern point of Srilanka. The other one is at Dondra in the south which is not demarcated exactly by the government. Corrupt down south politicians who are O/L failed, don't know the value of this.
Thanks to the Nothern provincial council, it is beautifully demarcated and as a result it has become a tourist attraction both local and foreign.

This place is truly special as it marks the most northern point of Sri Lanka. Jaffna is genuinely underrated and an affordable destination.

The most northern point of Sri Lanka lies on the edge of road between Kankesanturai and  Valvettithurai.

This point is marked by a concrete board on the edge of a correl with a Sri Lankan Flag painted on it.  This site is easily reachable by any vehicle along the road which goes along the beach. A small army camp lies on the small stretch of beach. You could stop your vehicle here and and walk up to this point over waves and corral reef right.

This location is marked as the very top point of the island. Locals are around but not exactly a tourist destination. Nothing much to do except for the photogenic location and the geographic value of being the northern most point in Sri Lanka.

Well maintained and clean surrounding. They are few local fishermen boats around. Simply can drop by take few photos enjoying the surrounding.

Nothing much to see except for the 2 monuments. You can park your vehicle by the road and just walk 2 mins to here. The view of the sea looks nice and that's about it. I wished we could see India from here, but unfortunately that's not the case.

Point Pedro, the northernmost point of Sri Lanka, is easily accessible by any vehicle, and there are no ticket charges. Marked by a concrete board with the Sri Lankan flag, this charming town in Jaffna District lies on the road between Kankasanthure and Velvetithurai. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this scenic spot if you ever travel to Jaffna!

This is the northernmost point in Sri Lanka. There’s a special area built to represent the unity of Sri Lanka. The beach around here is full of coral rocks and beautiful. The permanent signpost erected here in concrete reads "Unity in Diversity is the Strength of Sri Lanka

Even though the Poin Perdro considered in measuring the length of Sri Lanka, Sakkotei Cape is the Northmost notch point of Sri Lanka. It is close to Point Pedro and location is clearly visible when travelling in Kankesenthrai to PPD highway. It is exactly nearly 4 kilometers west of Point Pedro Lighthouse. You can see national flag drawn on a concrete board and a reference map drawn to identify the location. Area is full of small villages with fishing community. Heat of the sun becomes unbareable during at time in day. Worth visiting this place. 😍😍

The northernmost point in Sri Lanka. The sea near the beach is clean, clear and beautiful. Mostly Tamil Catholic people are living around this area. The day we have visited this place people were preparing an offering. You can walk some distance from beach towards the sea on the stoney sea surface .

We visited there on 4th February 2022, National Day in Sri Lanka. It was a nice place and iconic.
At the very top of our teardrop isle, Sakkotai Cape rests as the northernmost point of Sri Lanka in the neighborhood of Point Pedro.
