Horagolla National Park

This might be the smallest national park in Sri lanka. Just a few acres. But the biodiversity is high. You can spot alot of bird species. According to the wildlife officer there, fishing cat is a common sight.

Good for nature walking in the urban area, nice environment, maintenance is not good

It is a great place to see some animals and tress in near colombo. But there are no parking facilities for vehicles other than motor bicycles. Very small forest about 33 acres.

Very good place to visit for education purpose.very kind staff in there.And there are a museum for students.. many kind of animals are in there for medical reasons ... But only motorcycle can reach to the exact place .. other vehicles can park near the road side.. Go and enjoy but please dont waste them

Very good place. Very good project. They have a section to treat sick animal in thier home and taking care of them with their medical needs. Once we found an eagle which was shot by an air rifle. He was in my garden and coudnt evn fly. So we treated him with fish and didnt knw how to takecare of hom becouse it is not domestic. So we got to lnow abt this plaveand managed to brong him their. the staff is nice. They acceted the eagle and checkd is medical condition. So if anyone wish to handover a sick homless non domestic anomal, this is the best place

It's very important place to visit. There are some birds and can see forest and can easily walk through the jungle. Wild life conservation ministry manages this place.

Good place for bird watching , walking, study about botany & spend leisure time on there

Smallet national park in sri lanka. Beautiful

Their is no parking available. Get friendly with a house owner and park. The entrance is a very small 3ft road. Leading to a lake. The office is past that. You need nic of everyone attending. No bags or plastic bottles allowed. Entrance fee is about 100 rs for two.

Their are about 2 to 3 km of tracks inside the park that are paved. Its rich in insect biodiversity and is good to get a glimpse of one of the last wetzone evergreen secondary forests of gampaha district.

We went for birding. Unfortunately the visibility is very poor as the canopy is very thick this prevents any birds from being seen. They are mostly heard and not seen. Their are no open areas to view birds. However the information boards say the park has very rare species such as the chestnut backed owlet dwarf kingfisher, layards parakeet, etc.

The place is frequented by couples. But the dwc officers keep a close watch.

It is however an ideal place for a calm walk in nature and for insect photography. If you interested in fungi or botany this is good.

Lastly I must bow my head to the bandaranayake family for gifting this valuable gem to our nation. Thier breed of politician is very rare these days.

Wonderful park Situated in Colombo kandy road near Nittambuwa. Cant go by Car or van there is nO parking facility. The entrance is very small, like a 3ft road. No bags or plastics allowed into the forest.Each person Need NIC to attend the park.I think This park is the Small park in Sri Lanka. The park Opening Time is 9:00 am and the Closing time is 3:00 pm don't go after 3' O clock wild life staff not allowing to go inside the forest because after 3:00 pm Snakes and other animals are active time so that time is not safe for visitors.

This is a beautiful Place Need lot of cleaning. Specially Mr. Bandaranayaka resting place need pressure cleaning. When I was a child My mother took me their I have lot of childhood memory. I hope some day will change this Photos soon to clean Sri Lanka Photos. I don't like to rate my country bad, there for I will give them 5 stars. Please clean this place. Mr Bandaranayaka is a great man. Do Not leave this place dirty. Thank you.

Very valuable place.. beautiful environment

This is the smallest national park in Sri Lanka. Size is approximately 33 acres. But quite well packed with wet zone biodiversity. You have to walk up to the park from the entrance. Ideal place for a quick walk through the nature. I you are quiet and patient, you'll see some bird species and other small fauna.

Small Scale National Forest in Western Province.
From the outside we can't event think that there is a forest within.

To take a breathe of the nature from the city life do come here.

Not much but you will find tall trees & bird sound around you.

Sometimes if you are careful enough you can find some rare birds dancing through the tress as well.

But it need some attention. There is no proper entrance. No parking area.

To enter you have to have a permit which will be given when you enter in exchange for your NIC. You can get that back when you are about to leave.

But most of all if you just sit and be quite you can have an amazing you time for your self.

It is smallest National forest in Sri Lanka. Now it is upgraded as a park. No cafeteria and car park. Anyone can get a ticket and visit there for walk.

Another Sinharaja inside Gampaha District.

A small national park close to nittambuwa. Calm anf quite place. A good place to nature lovers. Lot varieties of trees in there. No need big time to travel around.
