There are two roads to reach this beutiful waterfall. One road is bit far from the main road and bit hard to reach by a car and last bit would be 1 hour walk. The other road will directly take you to the waterfall from a car.
To see the fall need to go to the viewing point.
This place doesnt allow you to take bath as its very dangerous and has taken many lives.

Woow.. Actually, It's One of the Most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen, It's a different experience I think. Marvellous place to visit and bath. It's Located near Aranayaka mountain range of Gampola area. The Google maps location is correct for the waterfall area.
Legend has it that King Valagamba, on his way to escape to Ruhuna, ran his horse through this sthan.Later it has changed to Asupini Ella. The waterfall is located at a height of about 3200 feet from the sea level and it is about 370 feet in height. This land, which is a natural reserve, has a beautiful environment.
After taking in the breathtaking beauty and fresh air,I'am shure you can refresh your life...

We came here from dolosbage side and directions are mentioned in the junctions. Even if you ask from someone surely they will help. A lot of bathing places there for you to take nature bath. But be aware about the rocks hence those might be very slippery. Strongly advice not to bath in rainy days hence water flows can be increase suddenly. Even don't bath down stream of the waterfall and lot of places are there in upstream.

The 30m fall forms part of the Maha River that originates from both sides of the Raksawa mountains and is itself 570m above sea level. The upper area of the fall winds through an area known as Uda Palatha, upstream of which is the Divisional Secretary’s Uduwella GS area, in the backdrop of Apalawatte Pallegama village.

The fall forms a plunge pool strewn with rocks where people are not encouraged to bathe due to the risk of drowning. Also at the base of the pool are crevasses known as Pinikandawela and Tissakumarawella that are said to house treasure by villagers.

The fall is steeped in history. According to ancient books written about border demarcations, this fall acted as a demarcation between the area of Satara Korale and Paranu Kuru Korale. Also, according to folklore, the fall derives its name from a desperate suicide attempt, where a mounted monarch leapt from its upper reaches. Villagers say that the fall sometimes emits a fearsome roar that can last for 15 minutes and that this signifies that it will claim a human sacrifice within a two-month period.
The fall is 49km from Pussalawe and 44km from Kitugala. The upper reach is about 5km from Dolosbage in the Kandy District and can be accessed by passing Horawela. The foot of the fall can be reached by travelling through Mawanella in the Kegale District, across Horawela. A four-wheel drive vehicle is the best option.

Horawela path can be taken from the Mawanella – Aranayake – Horawela route ( B278 route) or the Mawanella – Hemanthagama (B729) – Horawela route. The Hemanthagama route is said to be better than the Aranayake Route. You will need a 4-wheel drive from Horawela and a good 45-minute hike ( 1½ km) to the observation platform.

We were unable to reach the foot of the waterfall from Dolosbage root. However, there is a viewpoint where you can have a amazing view of the Asupini Ella.

Marvellous place to visit and bath. Located near Gampola.
We went from Kandy by bike. From Kandy it’ll take around 2 hours. There are nice landscapes on the way that you can enjoy.

Remember ⚠
The rocks are very slippery
And some points are unexpectedly deep enough to get yourself sunken.
Be cautious and enjoy.

It's a great place to deal with nature. You can spend some quality time with your friends or with family. When in the last months of the year there is a lot of water in the waterfall you better watch yourself if you are going to have a bath or go near the fall. But in January and february if you are going to bathe in the upper division or lower division in the fall, please take care in the first months of the year there has been a lot of drowning in there and many people were dead. So it has very dangerous places in some places, you should ask the local people in the area and trust me you should watch yourself and if you cannot swim don't ever jump into the water in this area. Its near my village therefore i know when someone who cannot swim jump into the water, it may be his last jump. So take care of yourself and enjoy nature. Thank you

This place is very calm to enjoy and it was less crowded. There are 2 ways you can approach to the falls.
1. From Aranayake: If you come by this way you have hike around 1.7km to the point. But the views on this road is very nice. If you have a motorbike then you can come on this road. But some places are hard for bikes as well.
2. From Gampola: This is the easy way you can directly come to the falls by vehicle.

The tip is rocks are slippery and you have be cautious. Also locals said there are usually deaths bu drowning.

My advice is visit here from Aranakayaka, it will be great journey for sure.

Asupini Ella is a spectacular waterfall in Aranayake. You have to climb through shrubs to get there. Be very careful, if you are planning to visit.

Amaizing place that i ever seen. Very beautiful seeneries and clean environment. We can travel there using any kind of small vehicles. But there are some gaps for climbing. There is little parking area. It can park some amount of vehicles. Specially i should mention this review, this is very clean and not much populared area. Please save and protect that environment. There is some dangerous area. Don't try to cross the waterfall. And also swim in reserved swim area. Other places are very dangerous.

Asupini Falls is a beautiful waterfall that can be seen from the historic town of Aranayake. 30m height. View point is located after 300m foot path and stairs. Now it has been destroyed. You can reach to water fall by foot paths but be careful when taking photos.

Its better to go there via Gampola road.. If you are going via aranayaka its better to go with a off road vehicle. Or you'll have to walk nearly 1.5 kilometers.Upper point could be heavy dangerous in a rainy day.
