Doteloya Estate/Dothaloya එහෙමත් නැත්නම් දෝතල්ඔය / දෝතලු ඔය වත්ත, මේ මොන නම කීවත් තැන එකයි. අරනායකට ඇවිල්ල අම්බලකන්ද පාරේ කෙලවරටම යන්න ඕනි. අම්බ්ලකන්ද පාර ඉවර වෙන තැනින් තමා දෝතල් ඔය වත්ත පටං ගන්නේ. දෝතල් ඔය කියන්නෙ ලොකූ තේ වත්තක්. තේවත්ත මැද පොඩි ගමක් තියෙනවා ගොඩක්ම ඉන්නෙ දෙමල මිනිස්සු හරිම හොද මිනුස්සු එහෙ ඉන්නේ. පරිසරයේ සුන්දරත්ව විදින්න සුපිරි ප්ලේස් එකක්, යන අතර මග පොඩි දියඇල්ලක් තියෙනවා. සහ ගම මැද තියෙනව පොඩි වැවක්. මෙහෙ මිනිස්සුන්ගේ ප්‍රදාන ආදායම් මාර්ගය වෙන්නෙ තේ දලු. දෝතලු ඔය කොච්චර ලස්සනද කියනවනම් නුවර එලිය වගේ. සීතල කාලෙට ජැකට් එකක් අයිස් කැප් එකක් නැතුව මෙහෙ යන්න බැ ඒ තරමට සීතලයි. හැමදාම හවසට මීදුම් බානවා. පොඩි ස්කෝලයක් තියේ, තේ ෆැක්ට්‍රියක් තියේ, පල්ලියක් තියේ,දේවාලයක් තියේ, මේ වත්ත හරහා තමා දෝතල් ඔය දොලොස්බාගේ පාර තියෙන්නේ මෙහෙන් දොලොස්බාගෙට යන්න පුලුවන් පාරනම් ටිකක් චාටර්. මෙහෙ වතුර අයිස් වගේ ඒ තරම් සීතලයි නිතරම පිනිබානවා , තව මේ වගේ ගොඩක් දේවල් මෙහෙ තියේ ඇවිල්ලම බලන්න. ආවට කමක් නැ මේ පරිසරය විනාශ කරන්න එපා.මෙහෙ මිනිස්සු පරිසරය හානි කරනව දැක්කොත් හොද වගේම තමා නරක. ඒ හින්ද ගිහින් ඒ සුන්දරත්වය විදලා එන්න.

Nothing much things to see. There is a waterfall called dothal ella and a small lake near by. Cold climate and pure nature . better to use a bike for travel

Doteloya is located in the Dolosbage hills, the hilly tract covering an area of about 400 km2 between Kegalle, Yatiyantota, Nawalapitiya and Gampola. In the Dolosbage Hills forest loss has been severe over the last 200 years. The remaining forest cover is restricted to a trivial number of small, scattered fragments that are concentrated in and around commercial plantations, and are often part of lands that are under the management of plantations. Doteloya Estate was established as a Tea Plantation in 1928 and the first Superintendent of this estate was Mr. A. Wiggin. The estate was initially managed by Messrs. Gordon Frazer & Company up to 1962 in which year the estate was bought by Mr. H.N. Fernando and managed upto 1974. With the government policy of Nationalization the ownership and management was vested with the Janatha Estate Development Board (JEDB) from 1974 to 1992. The government of Sri Lanka as a part of its re-structuring plan for the Plantations Industry decided to privatize the Plantations sector in June 1992 and incorporated 22 Regional Plantation Companies and vested the Estates between these Companies on a leasehold basis. Kegalle Plantations PLC was one such Company and it was allocated 21 estates including Doteloya Estate which is currently having Tea as the major crop while Cardamom, Pepper, Cloves and Coffee as minor crops. RPC Plantation Management Service (Pvt) Ltd is the managing agent for Kegalle Plantations PLC of which the Parent Company is Richard Peiris and Company PLC. This estate consists of 572.64 hectares in total and having a work force of around 400. It is a composite of irregular shape comprising four divisions as follows;The estate is situated in the Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka at an elevation of around 3000 feet above mean sea level and the administrative district is Kegalle. It is 36 km away from Nawalapitiya Railway Station and 26 km away from Mawanella City (Kandy Colombo Road). Entire estate is surrounded by Verging Forest and there are various species of Flora and Fauna which can be observed in this forest. The estate is now planted with 100% Vegetative Propagated (VP) Tea and has the potential of 2,000 kilos of yield per hectare per annum.Doteloya has been recognized as a producer of high quality orthodox mid grown type of tea which is a known quality for many decades among worldwide tea consumers, and the factory produces around 700,000 kilos of black tea annually which has been sold through Colombo Tea auctions. The brokers who handle our sales are Messrs. Eastern Brokers Ltd. The main destinations of these teas are Europe, Japan, Russia, Iran, Syria and other Middle East Countries. The factory manufactures both estate leaf and bought leaf purchased from small holders in the area. The factory has obtained ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System Certification along with Ethical Tea Partnership Certificate. The estate continues in factory and land development and on worker welfare activities as well as environmental sustainability programs etc.
