Tea Jar Lounge

There are not many decent eating places along A4 road between Ratnapura and Pelmadulla. Near 111 km post one can find Silver Ray complex and Tea Jar is one of them. Ideal place to experience good tea and a wide range of snacks in a relaxing ambience. For a tea lover, it’s a rare opportunity to taste highest quality low and medium grown tea. For people interested about the history of tea industry in Sri Lanka this is a must-not-miss place. For others a chance to enjoy a snack and cold beverage from a wide spectrum of choices. The staff is very friendly. Ideal for small group gatherings. Not recommended for large crowds and those who are busy in their travel. Well-kept wash rooms and cozy atmosphere. Go prepared to spend 30-60 mins.

Visited during my visit to Rakwana. This is right next to Silver Ray and is on the same side of the road.

The cheesecake is good and also the pastries. Coffee is good as well

Staff is friendly.

They do have gems for sale on the upper floor.

The premium tea selection for gifting purposes are really good. However some seems to bit over prized.

If you find yourself here, I highly recommend trying the cheesecake and galpadithenna tea. I'll certainly be revisiting this place whenever I'm in the vicinity.

Very beautiful and comfortable cafe. And the most important thing is that it is decently European. There is food, excellent treats, and coffee (latte, cappuccino) from a coffee machine. The coffee is wonderful.

Luxury restaurant with beautiful views. Situated in nice location. Beautiful interior. There is a gem and jewelry shop at 1st floor. And many tea varieties are there. Food was delicious. Nice and friendly service. Not crowded at day time.

Love this place! Cool atmosphere that's perfect to take a break while traveling to/from Haputhale, Bandarawela area which I hardly miss. Varieties of ceylon tea and other beverages along with tasty cakes and sacks! Clean and spacious, friendly staff. Reasonable prices. A must try experience ❤

Very nice place and concept, I highly recommend if you check it out on the way to your destination for a tea break and avoid other expensive coffee shops.

We went there for a tea break and also refresh ourselves from a long car ride. The the place is very beautiful and constructed really well. The architectural design is flawless and aesthetic, including the actual cups and kettles.

They have thier own tea brand which they are promoting, its worth checking it out as well.
They have coffee, tea and other beverages that they offer, along with snacks. We ordered a tea jar which is enough for around 3 people. You can even do tea tasting there.

Highly recommend. The one and only trusty and quality place in ratnapura area. I have visited this place few times and never had complaints. Totally satisfied with their service and star class food range.

Very good coffee and tea for reasonable prices. They have different varieties of tea.

Here you can buy fancy tea packs packed in different types (flavored, mint, other Ceylon tea grades). In addition, there is a cafe. There is seating upstairs, outside and downstairs. Their menu has a variety of coffees and cakes. There is nothing wrong with the food and the prices.

Great place to have a tea in between Colombo-Batticaloa Hwy. Tasty snacks and tea. Portions are pretty big. We ordered golden tips tea and chai spicy masala tea. Simply awesome! Reasonable prices.

It is a cafe located a little far from Ratnapura city where you and your family can spend time in a very good environment and surroundings. An atmosphere unique to the name has been built there, and it has a menu with many types of food. The price is reasonable. Maintains a very good customer service. My favorite snack here was the buttor prawn. Because it is located in a very good and clam environment, it brings a pleasant dining experience. Good parking space and easily accessible.

Last visited Aug 2019. Relax on the way in peace this is the place for you. Has two floors, if you are not in a hurry go to the top floor for a awesome experience. Upscale place for both foreigners and locals. Ample parking space for more than 10 cars even a bus. What caught most people are the outdoor area with massive cups for you to have a chat and tea, and a big Jar. Then the food is exceptionally good and very clean. Washrooms are awesome, kept very clean and dry, smell like a garden. Staff very friendly and helpful. Has many types of tea if you want something rare this might be the place. So if you are on Rathnapura-Palmadulla road be sure to check it out.

Probably the only place you can have a decent Tea, Coffee and some food once you leave Colombo towards badulla, bandarawela.

There is a good selection of Ceylon Tea's and Western Thai and Continental food menu.

Great place to have coffee or tea and refreshments. Cheese cake is yummy . Have ample parking space . Good customer service. They have many variety of tea and you can purchase then directly.

Beautifully designed. Nice selection of teas to buy and really good café. Loved the chicken pie but the cappuccino wasn't really a cappuccino (no foam on top).

Easy to find, there's a huge teapot outside.

We happened to stop by as we were passing through and we were so glad we did.

The tea's are absolutely delicious (my favorite being the Gunpowder) and the food is some of the best we've had in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend the Pad Thai and the Coconut Sambal Toastie!

Coming down from a tiring drive through winding roads finding a wonderful place for a brilliant cup of tea and a bite is the best c o u l d happen to u.top of it a clean decent wash room.cheers keep it up.the staff is customer focused. Very high standards .I think the best cafe in this route .
