Best place in Hikkaduwa area! We have been here almost every day both for lunch and for the beach . Amazing fresh food prepared by lovely and talented people, we had several types of fish, all yummy. On our last night we ordered the curry . Sooooo good and so much food . The whole place and staff are so nice. We will miss them when we leave ( especially the red sauce/dressing ). I really recommend it . They make you feel very welcome !

I had a very tasty diner and drinks here (white marlin steak). The fish was marvelous and came with a great side salat and some fries. The service was attentive without being annoying.
I would totally recommend to everyone that wants to have nice but not super fancy diner with amazing view over the sunset.

If you want to enjoy an authentic place with your feet in the sand this is really the place to go.
The people running this place are really very nice and the food is delicious !

Wonderful, family driven restaurant. We ordered jumbo prawns, which were truly jumbo, and over double the amount compared to other restaurants. Good value for money, and the staff is just wonderful. Recommend!

We just went there in the evening and and owners took care of us. Helped to choose fishes and told which is fresh. It was really tasty! Highly recommend
We were only customers at the moment and spent very peaceful time.

Strolling along the beach we ran into Sunrise Beach Restaurant. Looking for a place to eat diner we thought this looked the most inviting.
The service and the food were so good that we decided to come back the second night of our short stay in Hikkaduwa and we rarely do that. I took the prawn salade with avocado and the second day I took fish soup, clear and super tasty fish brew with big chunks of mackerel.
The fruit juices were fresh and delicious. If you are in Hikkaduwa and prefer peace and quiet and good food, you really should take the effort to find this restaurant, just south from Hikkaduwa center.

Nice guiet beach with comparetly gentle wawes even though it's windy. Here you can find some peace and guite couple kilometers of from rhe Hilkaduwa center.
Good drinks, milkshakes and they even have ice with beer if you ask. Desert are tasty.
We took.apart to a grillparty on new-year eve and the food was very good and tasty. Fresh seafood and chicken also.

Perfect place on the beach to enjoy Sri Lankan food. Wonderful big european breakfast. Very tasty pumpkin soup. Perfect lobster. Great tuna steak with cinnamon.
It is possible rent a room with private bathroom, simple but cosy with comfortable king size bed.

First of all, the husband and wife running this place are super sweet and attentive.
We ordered mixed seafood, and it was the best food we had on Sri Lanka, fresh, delicious and reasonably priced.

We had a dinner time in this Restaurant. Very friendly welcome by the owner and his family and really delicious, fresh sea food! We recommend you to visit this nice Restaurant, located at the beach to experience nice athospehere and superb local food!

I had zero expectations but it was unbelievable good!

Amazing food! The fruit juices were very well made and the salad was very tastefully made aswell! The seafood was fresh, and the batter of the seafood was so delicious and had great texture! The fried rice was outstanding! Probably one the best restaurants in Hikkaduwa if not the best I’ve been in Sri Lanka! Very nice staff.

Relaxed family run beach shack, serving delicious food. We had prawn rice, veg rice and coconut pancake. You must order curry and rice 2 hours in advance so it can be cooked fresh. The vibe at this end of Hikkaduwa is much more relaxed than the other end of the beach. The food was twice as good and half the price! Well worth a visit.

We have been there around 10 days ago. While traveling the last weeks in Sri Lanka we still think back to this awesome place! Best & freshest sea food we had on our trip. Homemade fish fingers (yummy!!), shark steak and tiger prawns. Everything was really good. My highlight was the shark. Never tasted something like it. Thanks to the owner and his family. So warm and friendly.

Best food we had during our 3 week holiday in Sri Lanka! You must eat the sea food! Jumbo prawns and crabs were amazing. Be aware that if you would like to eat fresh lobster you need to let them know a day in advance. But it is worth it! The owner and chef is well renowned and participated in international contests. The prices are more than fair. It’s about 10 euros for about 700g of jumbo prawns. Super friendly staff is a given in Sri Lanka.

Family run restaurant directly at the beach. Wide variety of Sri Lankan Food. Very good European breakfast. Reasonable price and friendly owner. Fast service.

I have posted to my friends that I had the best meal of my life here.
Grilled spicy prawns, fish fingers - small fillets of fish fried in spicy batter, french fries, a large plate of very mixed vegetables in a garlicky sauce and an amazing citrusy coleslaw/salad. And two large beers. 🤗
The view of the beach is incredible. We came back another day and stayed in one of Douglas' rooms, the cheap one, which was fine for the money. We had dinner and breakfast. Faultless food and lovely hosts. We're going back again for the Christmas eve Barbecue 😋
