Best place to witness autumn 🍂 and fall colours in Korea (~4 hours of journey from Seoul), A great hiking experience as well. Could easily spend one full day here. Enjoyed our time here and love to visit again!

Beautiful place to visit especially during the autumn season. Make sure you wear a good hike boots as the hiking roads are quite rocky and steeps. We did the 2 peaks and it took us 5h especially going down is more difficult than going up (you need to deal with the stairs). Bring water, food and snacks with you for energy recharge and pinic lunch

Another great place to view autumn colours. But be prepared to do a bit of walking up the mountain to reach Naejangsa Temple. Not too difficult trek, slighly upslope. There are beautiful autumn colours along the way up with brea=thtaling scenery for photo opportunities. Not to be missed.

It was really great that I could see red maple leaf in the beginning of Nov 2023. It was very nice.

Located around the Naejangsan mountain, this park is famous for its magnificent autumn colours, which is when the park is at its busiest. Spring is also a popular time to go, to see the cherry blossom as well as a large variety of flowers and trees. The best way to fully appreciate the park landscape is from the cable car. Visitors can stop off at temples along the hiking routes, where they can take part in tea ceremonies and other cultural activities.

Wonderful place to visit. It is the best place to observe the maple leaf in which I visited on November 6 last year.

Simply awesome. Only thing to keep in mind is when is the peak of autumn colours. We were lucky to get a lot of nice colours, still it could ge better few days later.
Also do not travel during weekends as the place gets super crowded and we spent 6 hours to return to Seoul.

Scenic, and at times, stunning place. The mountains aren't that tall or challenging as far as hikes go, and the trails leading to the mountains aren't that noteworthy, but boy are they beautiful. The autumn foliage here is phenomenal, one of the best spots in Korea to see the changing leaves.

Of course, that means massive crowds, especially on weekends. If you can swing time off from work, do try and come here on a weekday so you won't be here with throngs of people. Or you could just come here outside of the 3 week foliage window, but you would be missing out on some of the best fall foliage there is

Beautiful natural creature especially in autumn season. See turning-Red tree around Uhwajeong pavillion with bright blue color roof.
Recommend to be here around mid November.

Visited on 8Nov22 which was 3 days after peak foliage forecast. Quite a lot of leaves have fallen from the trees but still had quite a good number of trees with beautiful autumn foliage. I think it might be better to visit a few days before the forecasted peak foliage date of that year so that at least most of the leaves haven’t fallen.

5 different levels of hiking trails.
Easy (Walk) Moderate (Slightly steep) Intermediate (Quite steep and I would suggest proper hiking boots, Advanced & Expert.

Great spots for picnics and cafes and restaurants are available too.

Beautiful place for walking & trekking. It's a long trip from Seoul, about 4+ hours drive but it's worth.

Breathtaking view. I was lucky enough to see the maple leaves blossom in Naejangsan few years ago. My friend and I took a day trip from Seoul to the national park. Even locals came here for hiking and sightseeing. A gentle reminder to wear a light warm jacket and bring water, it probably takes 3-4 hours to get to the temple from the entrance.

This may be my favorite park in all of Korea! Hike the entire ridgeline loop if you have time, the peaks at either end are the best!

Best fall colors in Korea. I hiked from Bakamsa(temple) to Naejangsa(temple) for little over 8 hours and seen all the best colors in Korea. I lost a trail a few times but managed to find it. Please do not hike alone on this trail. Otherwise one of the Best trail in Korea, I think.

Very beautiful place to visit when in South Korea, we booked a tour for this online which kind of rushed the experience but it was still a gorgeous escape from the big city of Seoul. These photos are from October 24th to be exact and although there was some color foliage change, we recommend if coming for that purpose to come in November instead, but regardless of that the place was still stunning!

Way too many people as well. But it’s really nice in fall and can imagine how crazy it would be before corona. This is at 2am in the morning people waiting for the parking lot to open

A serene place to enjoy nature.
Best time to visit is in November when the leaves changed colours. ;)

Recommended to come here when autumn. It's very pretty so I stop in every spot to take a picture. If you want to ride the cable car, better to take the bus to the cable car because the queue is quite long. But if you just want to seeing around and enjoy the view, it is better to walk and take the bus to go back to the entrance. Or you can walk if you want. There is also a food stall in the middle of the park. Their honey citroen tea is very good. Also the eomuk.
