Odusan Unification Tower

Laid back. Minimal people here compared to the other areas along the DMZ to view N Korea. There is a convenience store on the 1st floor and a coffee shop on the 4th.

Such a great place to learn about Korea War in the mid-20th century. You will need to visit this place if you want to see the power of war in terms of family separation.

Great place, you can take all the feelings of this big history and tragedy. You can see North Korea by your eyes. Unforgettable.

Great location to get a glimpse of North Korea. Easily accessible by public transport. Another option to think about if you don't want to get up early for a 4am start to go to the DMZ. Only 3000 Won entry. There are free binoculars available pointing to North Korea as well as a few pointing back to South Korea. The walk down also has lots of beautiful Cherry blossom trees. Check closing times of the observatory for the day you plan to visit and try to allocate at least 2 hours. There's also a nice cafe where you can sit indoors, enjoy the view while sipping on a nice cup of tea. Could get windy outside, bring a jumper.

Very nice place that is open for free to the public. There is free parking space and a cafe.

Very interesting and educational. You can see North Korea from one of the rooms and on the observation deck you can look through the binoculars and watch North Koreans work in their fields and walk along the roads.

Fantastic museum, well curated. The most harrowing bits for me were the photo wall of photos of the separated families and the binoculars you could use to look across the border and see actual North Koreans shuffling to and fro. Chilling!

I have always wanted to see both sides of the Korean peninsula. I have been very fortunate to have fully explored South Korea, but haven’t had the opportunity to see the Northern side of the border. Odusan Unification Tower walks you through the history behind the division of the Korean peninsula and displays images of the families affected by this division. It also provides you an opportunity to have a glimpse of North Korea. A must visit.

Interesting place to visit. Educational and an opportunity to see first hand the separation between North and South. I think worth visiting. I would consider bringing my kids here some day.

Clean place throughout. If your going here there is a courtesy bus down below on main road. I walked up and its also nice with good views to North Korea and locally. Not busy when I went and use of spotting scopes free. Yes free! You can see farm workers in North Korea working as well as the lush green fields and surrounding mountains. To enter Tower was like 2000kwn its nothing really but worth the visit.

Great place on a clear sunny day to spy on the North Koreans! We saw several groups of people ambling about in the farm and on the roads, and there were a couple of houses that were unfinished (no roofs).

At first, I didn’t think this place would be much to see. I visited as part of a group tour to the DMZ.

However upon arriving, I went to the 2nd floor where there is an introductory video of the geographic topography of the area (don’t skip this) which is very helpful.

What makes my experience excellent, however, is the high-tech digitized binoculars. It has good zoom and also has interactive descriptions/landmark.

From the observatory, you can see North Korea in the horizon. Through binoculars, you can see the details even clearer. There are many binoculars and all free. Even though there are quite a few people when I visited, there was not a long wait to use binocular.

Have been to 4 observation towers across Korea to see North Korean border. This is the best and closest view possible. On a clear day, North Korean people can be seen working in the fields and living their daily lives!! A thrilling experience to see a country which is so secretive.

This is a public monument to the idea of unifying North and South Korea. The museum is interesting but the observation deck is the draw since you can literally see people walking about in North Korea via the binoculars. This place and all others seem to require proof of recent vaccination (like 10 months or less)

Awesome view on North Korea DPRK, many historical photos and stories inside Unification Tower, short video descriptions. Really worth to see.

Phenomenal way to see the river junction of Imjingang River and Hangang River, particularly when the tides are low. Multiple binocular fixtures installed on high points on the Odusan Tower provide unique vantage points overlooking the entire surrounding region for miles, offering any interested observer the ability to juxtapose the two countries' literal economic landscapes. You can very clearly see the fake housing structures on the DPRK side - the so-called "Potemkin village." Makes one ponder what the Odusan Tower looks like from the other side. The tower building also houses an interesting museum centered around the notion of "what if unification took place" and a gallery series with English translations.
