Gwanggyo Lake Park

I stayed in an apartment overlooking Gwanggyo Lake Park and walked there most days of my stay. It was August and the temperature was like walking into a solid wall of heat. When walking in the daytime the lake was most quiet apart from families taking advantage of the spouts of water to cool off young children. At nighttime families and couples and everyone come out to walk around and take some exercise out of the day time sun. At night time the lake is lit up and looks beautiful. In the daytime the cicadas sing and the noise is, at times, deafening. It felt very safe walking around the lake, even when on my own. I stayed for a week and walked around the lake lots of times, and each time I was able to vary my route as there are so many different paths.

I have been here a total of three times and I intend to go back because it's so gorgeous and peaceful. You can have a picnic. You can walk around the lake or cycle around. Lots to do. So many cafes to enjoy coffee. You can also go up the tower and get a great view of surrounding areas.

The serene waters and lush surroundings make it perfect for a leisurely stroll or a peaceful picnic. The walking paths are well-maintained, offering picturesque views and opportunities for relaxation. The park's design seamlessly blends nature with modern architecture, creating a harmonious atmosphere. However, limited facilities like restrooms and food options can be a drawback. Overall, Gwangyo Lake provides a refreshing escape from the city's hustle and bustle, allowing visitors to unwind and connect with nature. It's a hidden gem, though some additional amenities would enhance the experience even more.

It's a great place for walking and there is a tall tower that people can go up to the top by an elevator for free. There are many stores and restaurants in some parts of the park. I recommend it.

Absolutely stunning view of the lake and some of the city. Also a great opportunity for a somewhat longer walk around the lake. Especially in the evening, the lake and the buildings are lit up amazingly. I loved it there and would go back in an instant. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

I enjoyed this place. Walking around both lakes was a bit of a trek, but there is amazing sites and a ton of different trails you can take off on. There are tons of different things you can do along the trails. There are climbing walls, there is a stamp collecting trail that you can walk. There are a bunch of different walk outs that you can go on to look at different parts.of the lakes. There are red phone booths that have books in them.

The Wonchun Lake, which has various facilities such as a floor fountain, a performance hall, and an observatory, is crowded with people on weekends. It is good to enjoy a more leisurely walk at another one, Sindae Lake, which is a little farther away. Between the two, a shelter in the forest, Gwanggyo Green Forest Library, and a sports climbing center were located. If you are a family, you would like Wonchun Lake, if you are a couple, you would like Shindae Lake. It is okay to take a leisurely tour of the two lakes all day long. By using a bicycle, you can get around more comfortably. You can also stay at the Gwanggyo Lake Park Family Campground.

an amazing lake. I love walking and just silently enjoying the wonderful view. It depicts how a place can be compact with buildings but at the same time taking care of the nature and not neglecting them.

Naturally beautiful lake. Lot of fish to see. Beautiful flowers and garden. View tower was awesome. Feels peaceful sitting next to the lake. Perfect place for photo shoots too.

A wonderful family park with a library, watch tower, restaurants, cafes, play areas, restrooms, bike lanes, walk/running lanes, amphitheater with fountains (for kids to play during summer), convenience store, and even mosquito/bug repellent spray. A perfect place for family, joggers, runners, bikers, and even pet walkers… :-)

A beautiful scenic place for cycling, walking and picnic. This is a very big park, I still need to explore more.

best area with a view. 2 huge lakes!!! has a park and public library and a little tower overviewing the lake. amazing.

It is by far my favorite place among all the places that I've visited in my neighborhood. Good to visit anytime throughout the day. I especially enjoy visiting this park during summer season, when I can take a light walk with cool breeze from the lake on my back while listening to some random high-quality busking from the distance.

So beautiful place. I always run and walk in this place. Many people visit this place for picnic

This is very beautiful place to see.. the sunset is awesome.. and the night walk here will good relaxation.. and very good

My favourite park. I recommend you lent a bicycle that is also available for two people.

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Suwon and Kyonggi-do. Big lake park with a splendid spectacle especially for night view. 1 hour taking to stroll a main lake (there are 2 lakes here) and I assume it is a good result of urban environmental composition.
