閑山窯

This is my go to pottery shop in a town overflowing with skilled artisans.
The family is kind and knowledgeable; willing to teach you about the craft or leave you be to shop as you like.
Pottery classes are also available per reservation. A group on my friends and I went a little while back but a few of our cups and bowls were so thick they exploded during the firing process. They offered us another lesson free of charge and were sure to kindly emphasize the thickness recommendations ;)

家族で行きました。小五の娘もしっかりサポートしてもらえるので、問題なく作り切ることができました。
1人分の土で、茶碗、コーヒーカップひとつずつくらいは作れるので、量も十分です。
すごく楽しい体験ができました。出来上がりがすごく楽しみです。

とても丁寧に教えてくれて、楽しい時間を過ごせます。
今回２回目でしたが、タイミングで出来上がりの釉薬の色が変わるらしいので、今回は前のと違う色合いで焼き上がるそうなのでそれも楽しみです。
また、会津に行ったらやりたいなと思います。

以前マグカップも買ったことがあります(今回は丼)が、手にフィットする感じがすきです。ザ焼き物！な感じもありながらポップな柄も。悩んでても窯の方も優しく見守ってくれます。ちょっと奥まったところにあります。てびねり、ろくろもあります。
