Giving it 5 stars because it is the most authentic Mexican food I have ever had in Japan period. Atmosphere is nice as the restaurant is well decorated and service is good. For Japan, I think this is the closest you are going to get to the real deal. I wouldn't say it's out of this world, but I definitely enjoyed the meal. Portions are good for what you pay. Other Mexican places in Japan will charge you boatloads for much lower quality.

This place is a must visit!

The atmosphere is the best, especially when it's snowing outside. You get an amazing and cozy view from the inside.

The food is good and authentic, we had the tacos and enchiladas. If you're used to authentic Spanish cuisine it won't knock your socks off but it's stellar considering it's in Japan.

Value is great, service is great, there's not much else in the small town this is located in but it's well worth the trip. Not many seats so call ahead in advance especially for dinner.

If you are craving authentic Mexican food home made straight from a family kitchen and you’re in the Gonohe/Towada/Aomori/Hachinohe/Misawa/Hirosaki area or beyond, this is the place. Chicken enchiladas are top drawer for lunch and on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 7PM, the restaurant turns into a Mexican bar with tacos, chips & guac, quesadillas, and more. Recommend making a reservation (in Spanish or Japanese would be best) just to make sure you will have a seat. Desserts rotate but may include très leches (three milk) cake and arroz con leche (rice with milk/rice pudding).

Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. Who would have thought you can get handmade tortillas in this tiny town? We tried flan and seasonal pear tart, and they were both delicious. I will definitely come back and highly recommend it! 美味しいしとってもセンスのいい良いお店です!

Update 9/17/22
I went back for their weekend bar night on Saturday. Tacos are two for 600yen which is a pretty good deal for handmade tortilla. I recommend to go there early if you want to try all the tacos. It's not as busy as the daytime and the food is as good.

Place seems to be a small family owned restaurant but they are extremely friendly and the food was very delicious. Mexican food is only served during the day time hours but the night time food was also good. Will definitely visit again soon.
Edit:
Food still super delicious still recommend.

HIGHLY recommend :)! Homemade tortillas, and delicious food. Their caldo de pollo (chicken soup) tastes just like my grandma’s. My kids enjoyed their food, as well. Am really excited try their pastel de elote (corn cake) our next visit. Lovely and welcoming service. One of the main ladies, Kicha, is from Mexico, and she speaks fluent Spanish. Which was awesome for me since she was so friendly and sweet to talk to.

Great Mexican food. Hidden gem.

Highly recommend to call a day or two in advance to reserve a spot. Seating is limited so you’ll likely be turned away if you haven’t reserved a spot ahead of time.

Spanish or Japanese is preferred when calling as their English is limited.

For Lunch there is a number of set options. For Friday and Saturday dinner they have a Mexican Street food menu/small plate option.

Carnitas and Al Pastor tacos, Totopos w/guacamole, and chicken quesadillas are recommended items from the dinner menu.

Sundays and Mondays they close.

Saturdays are usually busy.

Reservations are recommended due to limited seating. Capacity for about 14 people.

Wow this is one of the places that are so good you just don't want to share. Amazingly fresh lunch, tons of flavor, and the nicest family. This could be the golden gem of Gonohe. The flavors are so we'll balanced I think everything has to taste great here. To eat mole in Japan with all the fresh vegetables and then finish the meal with piping hot corn bread and coffee. OMG 😍!

I’ve lived in Japan for 10 years and this is the first time I’ve had great mexican food. That’s probably an understatement. The enchiladas were just as good if not better than any enchiladas I’ve had in west Texas. Thanks again, and can’t wait to come back.
