Great place for skiing and boarding, fun trails, snow quality was pretty good, some of the forest trials were fun, and even the night skiing 2 lifts open until 7:45pm, both intermediate and expert trail were amazing! Love here, and fun activities during the Saturday night also romantic lights. Everything basically I can imaging were included into this beautiful resort. Enjoy and have fun here.

We had such an amazing time at Rusutsu. My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights in mid January.
Transport from New Chitose Airport was seamless and staff were helpful accommodating our last minute booking for the bus.
Our room was generously sized, proximity to the slopes was awesome -- just a lift ride down to your equipment locker. We got a half board and lift ticket package which was really worth it, all considered.
Food options were limited to the one buffet, even though there are a number of other restaurants, but the buffet was large and had high quality food.
Snow conditions and the resort areas were fantastic. We were lucky to arrive to 70cm of fresh powder on the first day, and more topping up most nights. Night skiing was also amazing, with last lift at 7.45!
The onsen was also a highlight. Super high finish, high quality facilities. The baths were just the perfect way to relax after a day on the slopes.
Pretty much the only downside was the WiFi the room, which frequently cut out and was super slow.

This can be a perfect place for a family vacation. They are varied of activities that one can indulge in. My husband and I went for a morning run around the resort, absolutely enjoying it. Running on the steep slope is another way to train the leg muscles. And husband was doing his barefoot morning run. There’s a sheep farm - great for children. A stroll around the flower farm is refreshing too. The hot-air balloon in the open field is such a beautiful sight. It has a separate onsen catering for male and female. And there’s an open-onsen in the female onsen. Onsen attire is provided in the room. Loved the ‘Tiger’ brand quality kettle cum flask in the room. The buffet breakfast and dinner serves a wide spread of dishes, filled Japanese food and continental too. We had a good night sleep with the window opened - loved the chill breeze in the night. This time we stayed in a modern room instead of the traditional Japanese-styled room. After the delicious buffet dinner, we had the chance to watch the light show which was displayed on it’s property as the backdrop. Amazing show. There are several clothing and souvenirs shops on the ground floors. Will surely come back in the near future for a winter holiday.

Stayed one night during our Hokkaido road trip - we chose this resort as it was relatively close to Lake Toya. We were pleasantly surprised by how many activities and restaurants/cafes were around. The onsen is incredibly modern, overlooks the mountain side and was pretty empty in when we went in a July.

We come here on summer and winter with family of three kids. either season is a great place to spend quality time with family. The mountain is one of the best places for snow sports in Japan and amusement park is great fun during summer.

We chose to stay in a Japanese-style room with futons for sleeping, and it was an excellent choice. The bathroom was clean but seemed a bit outdated. However, we didn't end up using it much because we visited the onsen every day.

The onsen itself is incredibly modern and one of the best I've experienced in Japan. It offers a cold bath, sauna, multiple hot baths, and even a spacious outdoor area. The onsen is free for hotel guests, but it costs ¥1,300 for visitors, making it the most expensive onsen I've come across in the country. Towels are provided, so there's no need to bring your own.

Surprisingly, the Wi-Fi connection was relatively good.

Overall, we loved our stay at Rusutsu Resort Hotel. If you're into skiing or snowboarding from morning till night, it's perfect. The onsen after hitting the slopes is fantastic, and the buffet restaurant with its Asian cuisine is good. The Japanese-style rooms are great. Initially, we had a bit of trouble adjusting to the provided hotel pajamas (yes, no need to bring your own), but everyone else was wearing them, so we got used to it too.

The restaurant opening hours are convenient as they open as early as 6:00 a.m. for breakfast and 5:00 p.m for diner. This is especially useful when you have hungry kids after a day on the slopes.

There are also a few cafes to suit various tastes and budgets: Horn Restaurant serves as the resort's food court, while Neve Cafe is a slightly more upscale spot within the hotel.

Great ski resort for both family and kids. The snow is good and it's a huge place. Buffet dinner and breakfast can be a challenge as you probably need to wait 30 min to 1 hr during peak period.

High quality of Service for Ski resort.
They has 74 ski courses and ski services like ski/snowboard lesson and ski equipment rental.
I rent all ski equipments for three days, cost is around 35k JPY.
They has a big amusement inside the resort as well.
Onsen is also good, cream and lotion is Kose brand.
At night, they has projection mapping and light up outside the resort.
For food, they provides three different restaurant in the breakfast that has buffet style and set menu style.
In dinner, they serves different types of seafood. Enjoy eating.

One of my BEST Ski Resort we have been visited.
Very thick powder snow, great track for ski, snow mobile, snow activities.

The resort is quite huge, so always bring map on your hand 😀
Also have onsen at 6th floor, a new one.
Almost 2 hours by bus from Sapporo Airport.

I stayed in Rusutsu for 6 days to learn snowboard . The hotel is quite old but under well maintenance . The onsen on 6th floor is impressed .Food is quite expensive in the hotel . You can go to 7- eleven for cheap dinner by monorail .
Wi-Fi was slow after 11:00 pm every night , everyone was laying on their bed and surfing the internet …..

Staff was helpful to explain the details and requirements of skiing. This is extremely helpful for my friend and I who are first timers.

Additionally, would like to highlight one good experience. We couldn't book/reserve our shuttle bus tickets from New Chitose Airport to the Rusutsu Resort online in time. Bookings has to be made 7 days in advance and there might not be availability if reservations are made late.

2 days before our arrival to Saporro, we checked and found that all bus services to Rusutsu Resort, on our day of arrival seemed fully booked. We were worried that we might have to pay a hefty sum for a private hire that can cost at least SGD250. So we wrote in to. We are grateful and would like to thank thee staff and Rusutsu resort for coming through with our last hour arrangement. They readily arranged a bus to pick us up!!!

Thank you Rusutsu! Our stay and experience has been fantastic and we would highly recommend our friends to the resort, not forgetting their great hospitality!!

The staff is way awesome. Specifically, J. Tanaka is super awesome and patient. I left credit cards at a different hotel in a different city. J. Tanaka got the hotel staff to give the cards to a bus driver and had them delivered to Rusutsu. He was on the phone for us speaking Japanese for us and set it up.

The skiing was also fantastic. Lots of variety at breakfast.

Bring the family! This hotel is great for a family with young kids who are crazy for theme parks. Their own mascots make for a great experience and you can see the effort has been made to keep it authentic. The South wing quickly deteriorates in quality as you see them trying desperately to cover up the older parts, but their North wing is where most guests will stay regardless.

Their Oktoberfest buffet restaurant is very much worth its money and highly recommended, though I would also have loved to try their other options. If you're here for less than a week the experience is sure to stay fresh during your time there.

Superb resort for leisure and skiing. The hotel is practically the size of a small town. It has so much to offer a family with children out on vacation. Selection of food was excellent. I recommend the German-themed place. The facilities for skiing are also excellent. Ski rentals were reasonably priced.

It was so fun visiting this resort 1 day which has never bored you and feel not enough. Entrance fee was 5000 yen to enjoy resort activities such as many kind of roller costers, taking gondola up to the hill which on the top the view was wonderful, if you with kids many things to do as well which there are many game centre. For food, a lot of chooises as well. 1 day well spend here

Spacious resort with helpful staff for non-Japanese visitors. Lovely new bath house at the north wing block. Short walk to the nearest 7-11 and seicomart. Lovely lady at the ski rental counter gave tips on how to put on the ski boots when she knew it was my first experience, even reminded us to be careful. 👍

Awesome Ski Resort. Great snow and about 42 km of trails. Good mix of beginner, groomed, back country and double black runs. Nice long rides and wide groomed trails. Some wide and several tight tree skiing areas. It didn't snow much while we were there but still good rides. Could use a little better signage as markers are a bit on the small size and only in Japanese. May need to ride up to signage to identify trails but after a day or so, you'll memorize the different runs or you could always just open up your trail map and / or pre-plan your routes. Convenient mix of gondolas and chair lifts with relatively short or no lines (in 2019). Not sure how long this hidden gem will last before the swarms find this place.

There's a large marble covered lobby when you first enter but still more of a quaint feel than Grand Resort. Very friendly staff (but don't expect everyone to understand English). A lot of amenities for being a self contained resort. A two story carousel in the shopping area and "Daniel & the Dixie Diggers" playing music 24 hours a day (see photo). Decent selection of gear at several shops including Burton and Salomon - I needed new boots to upgrade an equipment failure and was able to find something "relatively reasonable” for a resort. Good selection of restaurants between the two major hotels - Two Great Buffets, French, Italian, Chinese and of course several Japanese restaurants of various styles and cost. They also have a more laid back food court if that's more your style. A piano bar, a sports bar with live music and a lounge bar at hotel side of resort with a lobby bar at the Westin. Activities for the kids in addition to ski school including a game room. Indoor (Micro-Bellagio) Dancing Fountains. "Kamori Wonder Lights" Indoor/Outdoor light show was playing nightly while we were there. Free Monorail connecting Rusutsu Resort & the Westin. A 7-11 convenience store right across the street. All-in-all a great resort and ski / snowboard destination. Five Stars for convenience, friendly staff, great snowboarding and value.
