Wanted to treat myself to a tradition ryokan stay with a private onsen because I have tattoos. This was within my price range and I had low expectations due to the star rating on google but omggg. This was one of the top experiences I had while in Japan. It’s a traditional ryokan, very minimal and you sleep on a thin foam mat on the floor. If you’re not prepared for that you may not like it. But I loved the authentic Japanese experience. Got to rent the room with a private outdoor balcony onsen, it was the most amazing experience having a bath out in the open with all the red leaves around. Another must is to eat dinner and the breakfast buffet here. I cannot stress the Japanese breakfast buffet enough. It’s quiet here, about 1 hr from Osaka. The surrounding neighbourhood is quiet and picturesque. You’ll need to take a taxi from the train station. Must do from the station is the Cup of Noodles museum!

The only (?) hot spring traditional hotel near Osaka city. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing experience here. If you reserve in advance, the hotel sends shuttle bus to Ikeda station. The staff can speak simple English. Very clean and comfortable Japanese style room. Indoor/outdoor hot spring bath. Delicious Japanese style dinner and breakfast.

Aside for the facilities being a little old, the overall experience there was really good. Great food and great service alongside with great baths. Definitely would come back.

Had a great stay! The outside is a little older, but the rooms are just fine. I’ve been to a few public onsens before and there weren’t as many in this one (one indoor bath, two outdoor baths). My recommendation is to go early in the morning or late at night so you can have the bath more to yourself.

We also got the meal set with our stay. Food was delicious and very filling! They also have a noodle shop in the lobby which is open pretty late. Service was excellent, there is a coin laundry just a short walk from the hotel and a shuttle from Ikeda station (must reserve a spot in advance). One small trip you could take is to the Cup Noodle museum which is a short walk from Ikeda. Check out this ryokan if you’re looking for a nice weekend getaway!

A great Onsen Hotel, accessible easily from Osaka/Kobe by either car or the train-and-shuttlebus. Though a bit retro it is nicely appointed, renovated, and maintained, with courteous staff. Definitely coming back again for a hotspring day-trip or a quick weekend getaway!

So lovely. A little bit of a trek from Osaka proper, but perfect for a getaway with family or a lover. I think we were 2 of maybe 4 Gaijin at the entire resort.
Beautiful forest views from our exquisite room (traditional Japanese architecture with a private open-air bath and a small balcony). Robes and slippers provided, super nice massage chair, and two single tatami mat beds (extra padding in the closet if you need it). The breakfast buffet was damn good as well. Enjoy that, then go explore the surrounding area. You’ll find temples (or shrines?) and get in a good hike so you’ll be ready for the GORGEOUS onsen, which provides beautiful nature to stare at while you bathe in the hot waters. Great Shinrin-yoku (Nature bathing)! There are Winter blooming Sakura and many other native Japanese plants and trees that make for a truly sublime experience while soaking in the different pools. I loved this place.

Rooms were as advertised online, they futons were confortable. The wated in the bathroom was hot and the view was pretty. The onsen was well taken care of and the restroom had everything you need. The spa was really nice, I had a full body massage. The dinner they offer was large and traditional and their buffer was really yummy. The staff speak english, chinese, korean and english, they were really nice and helpful. They can take you to the train Station and pick you there. Memorable visit.

This is a nice hotel with an outdoor pool. It was nice because they allowed pool floaties and you didn't need swim caps. After the pool I went to the ofuro (bath) and it was super lovely. The outdoor baths were great and the view was outstanding, as was the koi pond. Overall a great place. Oh, the food was amazing, too!

Great service, great food, and great view. There is free shuttle pickup service in the local train station. The one we went need to take all clothes off. There might be a bit awkward at the beginning, but once you got in the water you started enjoying the water and the view

Amazing experience. This was our second night in Japan and easily is the best night of this trip. Would love to go again, the food that you are served is amazing and the service is outstanding. Be warned that there is very VERY little English spoken so be prepared.

The hotel.is.clean and tidy. All of the are friendly and helphul. The location of the hotel is convenient, close to the city centre of Osaka. One of the short coming is no onsen water supply inside the guest room otherwise it is perfect. The onzen is clean but seems tbey added some disinfectant,we can smell it. I like natural onsen.everyone should noted that

Very nice ryokan! Staff is polite and helpful, food tastes so good! The ryokan overall is a bit old but it’s neat and tidy, it would be great if they can keep the style and just have some renovations. We stayed in a room with private onsen, nice view and quite environment! For sure will visit again!

Location was distant but very quaint and peaceful. Staff were lovely and tried their best to accommodate for me despite the language barrier. Rooms were adequately sized and very clean.

I don't understand the bad reviews. This place was beautiful. The service was excellent and the hot spring was very pleasant. The dinner and breakfast were also quite nice.

Great service and food, very relaxing spa area. Although it looks a bit dilapidated, it's interior remains charming.
