Satsukiyama Zoo

A lovely little zoo with some great australian wildlife including the oldest captive wombat in the world!!! I visited here during the morning and it wasn't too busy but be prepared for it to get a little busier on the weekend. There is disinfectant spray at the entrance to prevent the spread of Corona virus. As of writing they are celebrating the birthday of their oldest wombat and there is a cute display in one of the buildings.

Free entrance zoo with some parks nearby. Very good spot to walk around with children in warm weather. The size is not so small but as it is free, it is recommended. You can park your car or using bus to come here. The animals is fun to watch.

There are also many facilities within the park such as a zoo, the Urban Greening Botanical Garden, a golf course, and Green Center, and many people gather here for leisure. The Satsukiyama Zoo is especially popular, with wombats and wallabies, and the admission is free. A cherry blossom festival is held on a weekend in early April every year in the park square and the zoo. In the summer, it serves as one of the venues of the Gangara Himatsuri, a festival that dates back to the Edo Period.

Free entry! They have a donation box by the entrance if you want to give them some coins etc. Good for little kids to see wombats, wallabies, emus and more.

BEST ZOO FOR 2-5 year olds. It’s a very small zoo with stations to buy food for the animals. You can feed almost all of them and it’s such a small place that it is easy to get from one exhibit to another. This was so much fun for my 2 year old. There is a small petting area, but that can get crowded. Animals seem well taken care of here, which is more than I can say for the Himeji Zoo (Pro tip: DONT GO). There’s a park after the pony area that has the best slides and is a lot of fun as well.

It's a free zoo!!! They have wombats! Need I say more? If you go to the CUPNOODLES museum, make sure to stop by here too!!! And stop by the castle ruins too for a great photo opportunity! All free!

The smallest zoo in Japan and at a good price. Free to the public. It has the Guinness world record of the oldest Wombat in captivity.

This is a small zoo for kids and it’s free entrance.

5 stars because it's free! Probably a 2.5 if I had to pay, none the less, the kids all under 8 years old had a blast, not only is there a zoo but also an awesome playground near by.
