Panier Restaurant - Furano

Huge portions and great katsu curry. The curry is spicy if you don’t take chilli they you may struggle. It if you like chilli you will love it. Excellent service and the restaurant is like a time capsule! A great outing for dinner. Be careful on the roads in winter.

Found this place for local Japanese curry restaurant by chance on google map. This is a fewer than 20 seaters restaurant, run by a couple I think. Has very homey and retro vibe to it. Feels like they used their first storey of their house as the restaurant.

Pork katsu cutlet was freshly fried and crunchy. Rice was amazingly tasty as well. Curry was slightly spicy and you cannot change the spice level.

If you drive, there are parallel parking space on both sides of the road.

We had a great spicy katsu curry meal here. We randomly found the restaurant but would highly recommend to anyone. Amazing local find.

Updated Dec 2019: A cosy little cafe with great food and very friendly service. English menu available. It's no longer a one man show since being purchased by the Fresh Powder Apartment people although the chef has remained the same. Food is still good if not even better. The curry pork katsu has a bigger serving of salad that I like. Not sure how the other dishes have changed since we ordered different dishes than in Dec 2017. The rice casserole was superb and we liked the gyoza and kaarage too! Nicely renovated with a fireplace and a large screen TV.

We decided to come for dinner last minute and it was 45 minutes from closing! We had a total of 9 people and ordered 7 dishes. We were quite worried it would take long as the owner did everything (taking orders, meal prep and cleaning). The food came out earlier than expected and all the dishes were delicious! (Curry and baked casseroles and pizza especially!)

Our family (of ages 20s to 80s) enjoyed the meal here and HIGHLY recommend it!

Warm host and comfortable homey environment! Would definitely return, especially the curry! Especially during winter days after skiing!

Went to the new location now that it has moved from Furano. Still my favourite curry in Hokkaidō! The owner and staff are very friendly, and the meal portions are more than generous (we all left full). Well worth a short drive to Yamabe if you’re nearby.

Cosy at home feeling. Owner was friendly and KATSU CURRY was very nice and filling. Slightly different to the normal Japanese Curry and it tasted better as I ate more. Slightly on the spicy side, but not too spicy.
A little on the pricy side, but for the area I suppose it is not too bad.

Panier is a lovely small restaurant with very friendly hosts and a variety of meals on the menu. Specialising in casseroles, we had a range from potatoe to seafood and beef. Note the black curry is quite hot 🔥!
The owners have a special place in their heart for Australians (our waitress was Australian) and all are welcome.

One staff speak good English, its foreign she's nice, once you open the door. She's so welcome. You can ask anything, she willing to help. Food delicious, 10 out 10.

I had an amazing Omelette Curry. (Omu kare-) I had to force myself to slow down while eating it, and I wasn't that hungry to begin with! Would definitely come again. The man who runs the place is a kind-hearted person. I would definitely come again.

The curry is phenomenal! This restaurant feels like you're being welcomed into someone's home. English menu available. Western and Japanese seating. Go for the curry!

Best curry on Hokkaido, hands down. Great service, cold beer and an “average” play list to keep your foot tapping.

The food here is amazing! I had the omelette curry and it was very delicious. Totally worth the wait. The owner and staffs were also very nice. Overall a really great restaurant :)

Right up there with the best Katsu Curry I’ve ever had! It was so delicious, big portions and reasonably priced. Friendly service and a warm atmosphere.

A fantastic place! The owner was very friendly and sweet, and the food was wonderful and filling. Highly recommend the specialty Furano omelet curry (オムカレー ) or any of the curry dishes.

Great ski-recovery food and beer, roomy, good service and ambience. Thumbs up to the seafood gratin! Also the snowboard videos (those guys are nuts)

Ordered doria, pizza and gyoza and it was fantastic! Cozy, comfortable and kid friendly. Love the attention and service given as well.
