Bus is available to Tsumago & Magomejuku, 1st bus at 8:40 last at 18:00 for Tsumago and 16:35 for Magome. Only 5 bus/day for each route so time yourself carefully if you dont want to walk (timetable attracted).

No electronic ticket gate and no ticket machine, so you cant use IC card here, just cash & passes

The lady at tourist information center is really nice, she even write down train schedule, time, which platform and where to transfer, then distribute the note to tourist there. Really nice, really helpful!

Station has a great waiting room with vending machines, toilets are next door near the bus area. There is a small supermarket on the Main Street and also some snack/souvenir places if you need supplies. Note that you need cash for tickets and can’t buy a reserved seat for limited express tickets with your JR Pass at this station. So during peak times you have to hope the two carriages for unreserved tickets are not full. Also no Suica card. And you can’t get on and off with the express ticket, so you can’t do any tourist exploring on your journey.
A lovely station employee asked if we needed help and where we were from and gave us green tea grown in the local area.

Nice waiting room if the weather is not playing nice. Tourist information there. Not much else. Few small stores across the street. Couple lines run here to go back to Nagoya for those who visited Tsumago. We took the Chuo due to timing although the Shinana Express is a lot faster.

The tourist information lady stands out with excellent and ambitious service offer and her friendly attitude. Her english is very good as well. She helped us to find some nice spots nearby while waiting for the train. If you are searching for the station stamp, you need to ask her.

There's a tourist counter at this station with the nicest lady you'll ever meet.

待合室のコインロッカーは大型なのに300円と安いが、6個しかないのでハイシーズンは注意（観光案内所で預かってるかもしれないが）。

なぎそ　と読む駅です。特急しなので行きました。風情がある駅で妻籠宿方面バスはここから出ています。駅での精算は、ICカードではできず、現金しか使えません。

JR東海の中央線南木曽駅です、周りは静かな集落と古い中山道が通っています、さらにいろんなお店があり観光地が広がっています。

南木曽駅から妻籠まで歩けます。気持ちのいいコースです。

到這邊轉車前往妻籠宿

南木曽駅は無人駅です。切符販売は現金のみ、営業時間は7:50〜16:05（11:10〜11:30と12:35〜13:15は営業休止）、SUICAなどは使えません。

観光案内所で地図をもらい旧中山道の妻籠・馬籠を通り中津川駅まで歩くことができます。道中トイレも整備されているので安心です。所要時間は観光しながら歩くと５時間～です。

名古屋から松本に行く途中で立ち寄りました。中津川から先は、特急以外の列車は数が少ないです。南木曽駅で１時間以上待ちました。

妻籠宿の最寄り駅。駅舎は堂々として素晴らしい。名古屋地区の通勤圏の限界はここかも。朝に名古屋行き電車がある。駅スタンプは窓口が管理している。特急「しなの」も一部の列車が止まる。

JRのイベントと桃介橋のツツジ祭りがとても良かったです。からすみという地元のお菓子を買いました。
