丸山千枚田

A beautiful traditional terraced rice field. Come here in April-May to see the planting season. Come in June/July/August to see the rice fields in full growth and come in the autumn to see the harvesting. There are a few places to park your car here but not many so it may be difficult to park. I recommend parking elsewhere and walking. There is a lovely hike nearby where from the top of the mountain you get a great view of the rice fields.

Went to see the Maruyama Senmaida rice terraces. Absolutely incomparable views, unforgettable experience! The hills are cut into terraces, fill them with rainwater, and plant paddy (rice). As scenic as it can get, when the coloured clouds and sun is also reflected from the water filled terraces; the sight offers great opportunities to the avid photographers or even amateurs. The landscape changes throughout the year, from the beginning of planting season where the terraces are water filled, then to the fields of green of the young rice plants growing up, and finally ripening to golden hues at harvest. These rice terraces are absolutely stunning! Definitely worth the trip out there.

If you like photography, better you come early, because everybody booked place for take a good view. And also few area parking. People used parked the car in the side the road.

Worth the hike, very beautiful, serene and peaceful.

山の中にある棚田。
畝が緩やかにカーブしていて一枚一枚の田が狭く、非常に美しい棚田です。
展望所から一望のもとに眺められます。

展望台スペースがあるのでそこから望みました。8月の元気に育った稲が青々としており、風景もとてものどかでです。故郷ではないのですが、どこか懐かしい気持ちになりました。最高の景色です。

熊野市の名所の1つが旧紀和町にある丸山千枚田。山地が7割、山が多く平地が少ない日本において棚田は日本各地で見る事が出来るが、美しい日本の風景の1つである。

丸山千枚田は標高736mの白倉山の斜面-標高90m～250m付近にあり高低差160ｍ、1340mの野面積みの棚田は非常に見ごたえがある。安土桃山時代から棚田の記録が残る程、歴史は古く、紀伊山地の山々と日本の美しい景色を堪能できる。

棚田の上に駐車場つきの展望台があり、車をとめて上から眺める事が出来る。外国人にも人気の場所となっている。

One of the sightseeing spots in Kumano City is Maruyama Senmaida
About 70% of the areas are mountainous and there are few flatlands, terraced rice fields can be seen in Japan.
It is one of the beautiful Japan landscapes.

Maruyama Senmaida is located on the slope of Mt. Hakukura at an altitude of 736m and around 90m~250m above sea level, and the terraced rice fields with a height difference of 160m,so it is so beauty.

It has a long history that there is record of terraced rice fields since the 1601.We can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains and Japan of the Kii Mountain Range.

There is an observatory with a parking lot on top of the terraced rice fields and we can park our car and look at it from here.
It is also a popular place for foreigners,so not only Japanese,but also foreign tourit come to this place. If you want come here,you need to rent a car or taking a taxi.

8/1に訪問しました。誰も居なくて独り占め。秋の稲刈り時期は違った景色になるのでしょうね。
道中は細い道ですが見る値打ちあります。

2023年6月中旬。大小様々な水田に植えられた苗も成長し青々しく美しい季節。
上から下へ流れる水の音、鳥や蛙の鳴き声、畦の草が刈られた匂い、雲の動きによって変わる景色…実際に訪れて感じる事が出来ました。

田んぼのオーナー制度があり、地元国会議員や三重県知事などの田んぼもあります。

国際自転車ロードレース・ツールド熊野のコースにも組み込まれています。

地元の方達は普通に暮らしておられ作業されたりしているので邪魔にならないように見学するように心がけましょう。あまり見学用のスペースや駐車スペースは広くないので気をつけなければなりません。景色は開けていて素敵な光景です。

山間の谷間にぎっしりと並ぶ丸山千枚田。
近くの峠に千枚田を見下ろせる展望スペースがあります。ここから見るのがベストだと思います。
ここは山に囲まれた本当に奥深い土地です。
南紀の地は海と山に挟まれて平地が本当に少ない土地柄です。
ここで米作りをする苦労は大変なものだと思います。それを可能にする先人の知恵に敬服させられます。
そしてここから見る千枚田の景色は本当に綺麗です。

運転の自信無い方は千枚田の中の道は入らない事をオススメします。すれ違い困難場所多数。

Une vue exceptionnelle sur les rizieres. Nous sommes en pleine période de lycoris, ce qui rajoute encore à la beauté du paysage.
Nous en avons pris plein les yeux ! 😍

熊野の山奥にある丸山千枚田。
夕方🌆行くと神々しい景色が見られる。
山の中にこれだけの田んぼを作った先人は尊敬します。
春夏秋で景色が全く違う。
自分の大好きな場所❤

千枚田の名に恥じない素晴らしい景観です。
白米千枚田とは雰囲気がまるで違います。
来て見る価値は十分あります。

朝に訪れたのですが、思わぬ朝霧に幻想的な景色を楽しめました。
霧が晴れてくると、山間の棚田なのだな・・と。
田んぼの表情が芸術のような模様で面白いです。
とても奇麗に手入れされた田なので美しいです。

アクセス道路について。
いくつか経路があるようですが、国道311号線から板屋川（中山橋）から県道780号へ入り、千枚田オートキャンプ場に向かう道を『入鹿窯』を越えたら右に入り、そのまま行くと近いですし、道も一番良いです。

駐車場は2か所あり、『大石』大きな岩を越えたすぐの所に休憩所、トイレに併設の駐車場に4台分。
その道を更に上に上がった所に『展望東屋』に併設の駐車場に6台ほど停められます。

日本の棚田百選の一つ。記録には1601年には既に2240枚の田があっとされている。しかし近年稲作転換政策や過疎高齢化による耕作放棄などで、平成初期には530枚までになった。その後地元住民による復元と保全活動によって平成9年には日本最大規模の1340枚にまで回復した。
その活動は、丸山千枚田保存会が中心になって、資金援助などの募るオーナー制度や千枚田を守る会を発足し、全国の棚田ファンから支援を得た結果である。

田植えされた状態の方がきれいだと思いますが、稲刈りされている季節でも景色は十分楽しめます。

熊野市から311号線で本宮大社に抜ける途中にあり、丸山千枚田の道路標識も出ているので場所は分かり易くなっています。

県道40号線には展望駐車スペースがあり、そこからだと一望できるのですが、車一台やっと通れるぐらい幅が狭い箇所もあるのですれ違いに注意ですね。
