Aonoyama Station

山口線、宮野以北の便に初乗車。
田園風景の中で減速し始め、一瞬、こんな所に駅があるのかよと思った。

列車の本数は少ないが、のどかで落ち着ける、素晴らしい駅である。
山口線宮野駅以北は赤字路線と発表されたが、もし廃線となってしまうとこのような良い駅もお役御免となってしまうのかと思うとやや不安感を覚える。

今年（平成２８年）４月末、青野山の麓で開催される〔つつじ祭り〕を見るため、島根県津和野町の麓耕地区の〔つつじの里〕に行った。田植えを前にして、田んぼのあぜ道ではつつじと鯉のぼりの競演となっていた。ＪＲ青野山駅の南側になる。

ここから少し離れるが、津和野町日原には、〔かんこ塚〕と呼ばれる芭蕉句碑がある。役場で尋ねると分かりにくいところだからと案内をして頂いた。

現地には〔かんこ鳥塚〕の表示もあるが、たしかに一人では分からなかったと思う。表示のある箇所から民家の裏まで２０メートルほど歩く。役場の方も言われていたが、保存状態がよくないので、注意しないと見過ごすかもしれない。

小さな無人駅だが雰囲気景色いい駅である

A tiny station at the foot of Mt. Aono. There's no regular employees/ticket machines, so you have to buy your tickets once you board (only the local line stops here, so it's pretty easy to figure out, though there is only a train every couple hours). It looks like something out of a Ghibli movie, especially at the end of April. The entire hillside is covered with different colored Azaleas and it's absolutely stunning. I live in the area and went during the Covid-19 pandemic, so they did not have the usual Children's Day festival, but I still enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Definitely worth a field trip for any flower enthusiasts. (The Shusuien Tea Shop in this area is also worth a visit.)
