桧一木造りの「十一面観音立像」があって、
１１００年程前の藤原時代の作で池田市の重要文化財に指定されています。
高さは１４８．５㎝、頭上に小面を少し見せていることから
十一面観音像とされています。

永興寺は現在、本尊を釈迦如来像とする曹洞宗であり
この十一面観音像はもと木部天神の神宮寺松梅寺の本尊であったという。松梅寺については不明。

小さくて古いお寺です。
永公がこの地に来た時に粗末な庵に十一面観音像が祀られており
ここで一泊したところ、観音様のお告げがあって
寺を建てたとされています。

のどかで 良いお寺です ただ 車で行くには 道が狭く登りもかなりキツイので難しいですね
