Saitama Prefecture Driver's License Center

Note: I am fluent in Japanese. There is very little English ( all announcements and information boards are only in Japanese), so for non speakers that can lead to an harder experience, however the staff is usually very helpful and tries their best.

Went to renew my Japanese driver’s licence.

Checked the website in advance, came to the reception at the dedicated hour and with the necessary documents, as indicated.

Everything was very smooth, and every person was incredibly polite and friendly and it was faster than I expected.

The reason why they have a set reception time is because this is the start point of the whole procedure from the filling of forms to getting the new driver’s license card.
Having renewed my license previously, their procedure doesn’t seem different from any other place, or from any other administrative office in Japan.

Also, it seems that they have an English session planned from time to time.

When I arrived at the license centre although I was late my file was received and treated immediately I left within 45mins there staffs were kind to me.

I went to get an international drivers license to use overseas (I hold a Japanese drivers permit, so its a pretty straightforward application). The staff were exceptionally helpful and efficient. I was in and out, with my new international drivers permit in my hand, in 25 minutes.

Highly appreciated there services being a foreigner

Now I can drive 10ton trucks perfect. Thanks to saitama prefecture driving center.

本免学科試験を受験しに行きました。早く来た為か、収入証紙購入から視力検査終了までそれほど混雑せず、順調に進みました。尚、受験終了から結果が発表されるまでの間、写真撮影、免許証が交付されるまでは時間がかかりましたが、想像してたほど長時間ではありませんでした。また、係員の男性スタッフ及び窓口の女性スタッフの愛想がとても良かったです。食堂もあるので、腹ごしらえできます。

월요일 오전 7시 50분에 도착.
주차장을 넓고 차 댈 공간이 많았음.
이미 먼저 도착한 사람들이 많아 줄이 길게 늘어져 있었음.
도쿄도내에서 한국면허 가지고 교환 받고나서 3년 후 첫 갱신하러 왔는데.
개인적으로 도내보다 좋았던 것 같음.

12/17(日)鴻巣へ。
年末の混雑すごいです。寒風吹き荒むなか列に並びます。
7:45分開扉で、更新の手順は二枚目写真の通り。
先頭の方はおそらく6:30頃に並んでいるのではないでしょうか…4列目で50番目くらいですが100人くらい入れる講習室なので7:30に来ても先頭の方と同じ回になりました。
講習中に居眠りすると講師が起こしに来ます。厳しくなりました。

免許関連でお世話になってます。今は外国人の方の免許試験が多いですね。なので一発試験を受けられる方は車やバイクの状況も把握しながら一発試験受ける形になります。令和6年1月から原則キャッシュレス決済になりました。キャッシュレス出来ない！って人は直接問い合わせるのをオススメします。
