Miyajidake Shrine

This Shrine is awesome, there's so much to see and pray at
The area is very large and spacious. There wasn't a crowd, no waiting and no dress code.
Admission is Free.
Parking is down the street with a 2 minute walk.
Worth visiting if you're looking for good luck, love, family, healthy kids...etc.
Highly recommended.
You won't be disappointed.

Chose to walk from the JR station to the shrine (good workout in the early morning sun). Visited in the off-peak season... so there was no crowd. Loved the serenity of the area :)

We were there on 27 Dec 2022 a few days before new year, so the place was under preparation. But it cannot block the magnificence of this great temple! I love the peachful feeling of the place when we sit under the tree. So good 😌😌😌

The road of light! Note that seats are limited including some paid seats, 5,000 yen or $45. Go in advance well to get seats by joining loooong line. Only in February and October, the sunset event happens. Check their website for exact days and more information.

In October and February, the sun lines up just so and the road leading to the shrine becomes golden upon sunset. This makes the shrine even more popular at this time, so it’s not a bad idea to come early if your goal is to catch the golden road. There are many little shrines along the grounds and a relatively easy hike as well. There are many shrine stamps to choose from.

Amazing temple with a tonne of history attached. The gates lead straight to the ocean which is beautiful even when it’s 2° out. Loved it.

It's as beautiful as I saw in arashi's cm. The path from the shrine to the shore was great enough to not forget about.

I have been coming here for more than twenty years (for it is my local shrine) and it does not disappoint. A wonderful shrine with huge grounds to wonder around and it is very much worth your time to look beyond the shrine's curtain and venture off into the woods. Many hidden treasures and a great place to have a picnic.

I just loved this shrine, was so peaceful, the chill of the air was just right so walking around the shrines was at ease. for those who cant walk the steps there is a few cars spaces at the top, some amazing views also down to the ocean

Admit it. MUST go place if you travel Fukuoka. Highly recommend if you like to go to historical or traditional place.

Miyajidake Shrine, located in Fukutsu in northwestern Fukuoka Prefecture at the top of the Kyushu region, houses sacred objects — all the biggest of their kind in Japan — collectively and commonly referred to as “Japan’s Best Three.”
