If you are reading this, book your stay now! Best ryokan and possibly best overnight stay we’ve ever had. The experience was truly one of a kind and memorable. The service is above and beyond, the staff is so kind and attentive. Communication in English was easy as everyone seemed to be fluent. The food was incredible. Loved the rental jinbei and yukata outfit. We stayed at one of the rooms with a private outdoor stone bath and that really made our experience so special. The room was large and comfortable with many sitting areas. Our meals were served in our room by the sweetest server, she explained each item in detail. The kaiseki dinner was not only beautiful but made with such craft and the seasonal flavors of spring shined. Breakfast was also amazing and fresh. Loved that there is bar and restaurant on the property as well. There are 5 private shared baths that you sign up for, the 3 we tried were so peaceful with views of the waterfall. There are shared baths as well but we didn’t have time to use them. Loved just wandering the forest and relaxing at the fire pit and outdoor foot bath. Also the shop sells beautiful gifts from food to clothing. Would give 10 stars, highly recommend!

Day trip hot springs. 800 yen. Fantastic open air bath. I tried the walk in lunch after my soak. I had the beef curry, with no beef, just flavor. I would recommend the hot springs, not the lunch.

Probably the best ryokan I’ve been to. We stayed in the room with a hearth and private onsen. The staff are so helpful and kind it’s astounding. The food was out of this world - we were served keiseki meal in our room and breakfast in the lounge area. Onsen #2 is the best out of the public ones. Definitely visit the private onsen also as they are right on the river, some have jets which is fun. The grounds are magical, between the miss the green trees and the low light that filters into the forest you really feel like you are in a fantasy land. The bar area is a little brightly lit IMO but was still very cute. If you’re into whiskey the bartender makes his own and has a bunch of flavors of his.

Impeccable service! The best that we have had in many years of traveling in Japan. Food was superb and the location was beautiful. The staff goes well beyond what they suppose to do to make you feel taken care of. Very friendly to families and foreigners. Will definite return.

I've been looking forward to visiting this ryokan and it did not disappoint!

Surroundings - amazing garden and scenery. We came during autumn and were surrounded by maple leaves and beautiful colours. Maple leaves right outside our room and onsen.

Room - we stayed at the standard room with toilet (no bath). Room has nice view facing the river and have maple leaves outside. Comfortable and quiet room.

Onsen - the most famous onsen is the one where you could see the waterfall. However, my favourite ones are those family baths where you got to see the river and maple leaves. There are 5 family baths and is not full during our stay.

Food - very nice dinner and breakfast! We had dinner in our room and breakfast in the restaurant. Everything is delicious (esp the beef sukiyaki at dinner).

Everything is almost perfect. Very delicious dinner and breakfast. Fabulous room. Very friendly staff. All the hot springs are so great. They deserve six stars.

ONSEN Takimian review: excellent luxury outdoor onsen with a nice view of the waterfall. Entrance ¥800, shampoos provided, you need to bring your own towel. Operating hours for non guests 10:00-17:00, there is parking. Free lockers near the entrance of the onsen.

You pay at the friendly reception and then you have to follow a path through the ryokan, then out and up some stairs through a wooden roofed corridor to finally arrive at the onsen. Entering the changing area which has heating and free hair dryer you can change here or if its a cold day you can proceed as you are for a 30 seconds walk to the onsen, there are baskets there as well for you to change.

There are four places to wash up with stools and shower heads, no mirror. The one outdoor tub is big size made of big rocks with pebbles on its floor. The water flows in from a bamboo stick at the corner. At the edge of the tub there is a bench where you can sit and view Sakuradaki waterfall from afar. There are lots of trees obstructing the view but it's still nice full of green. Half of the tub has a roof for the rainy days. Measured the water temperature in the tub at 42°C (excellent as it was snowing) and from the bamboo flowing in at 52°C.

The facilities were excellent, very clean and beautiful. Went there on a Monday afternoon, spent one hour bathing and I was completely alone. Everywhere you go in the ryokan is really beautiful and all the service people are very friendly. A nice stop to relax!

Simple hot spring, pH 7.8, metasilicic acid 146mg, source temperature 69.7°C, water flow 320L/min (drilling 120m), gensen kakenagashi.

My husband and I have been to more than 10 specialty ryokan private onsen hotels and give this place 6 stars out of 5 .

Highlight was being enjoying our private onsen with the view of a river steam in room 302.

Staff are extremely courteous , multiple choices of public onsen baths inside and an option to have our breakfast at a later time ie 11am which is very rare for other inns.

렌터카 여행을 계획하신다면 강력히 추천합니다. 산 속에 있어 찾아가기는 어렵지만, 폭포가 보이는 노천탕과 숲 속의 산책로는 그 이상의 힐링을 제공합니다. 가이세키도 너무 달거나 짜지 않고, 회와 스키야키 등 한국인들 입맛에 대부분 맞을 것 같습니다. 방문 전부터 카카오톡으로 안내해주시고, 가이세키 메뉴판도 한글로도 (다는 아니지만) 번역되어 있어 한국인 관광객들을 배려한 점도 좋았습니다. 방은 아늑하고 새 다다미 냄새가 났습니다. 방에서 창을 열면 폭포 소리가 들리고, 숲을 배경으로 차 한잔 하는 것 또한 너무 좋았습니다.

桜滝を見る ついでに立ち寄りました。まさかこんなに高級なところとは知らず気後れしながらコーヒーだけでもと入りました。
スタッフの方が、若くて元気が良く親切です。気分が良くなります。カウンターのようなところで、景色を見ながらコーヒーやスイーツをいただきました。
年金生活には高級すぎると思うけど、いつかは 行ってみたいと思いました。サービスは期待できると思います。

露天風呂の数が多く一泊で全て入るのは大変。
貸切露天風呂はチェックインして直ぐに予約した方が時間が選べる。
部屋での食事も大変美味しかった!

食べきれなかった分と夜食用におにぎりも用意して頂いた!
担当して頂いた仲居さんも優しく温かい大変好感の持てる対応でした!

산소 텐스이는 함께간 와이프와 어머니가 너무 좋았는지 다른 료칸에 있다 여기에오니 끊임없이 사진을 찍기 시작하였습니다. 가격이 더 높은 료칸들도 몇번 가봤지만 여기가 자연과 더 잘 어우러져 있는 느낌이라 만족도가 높았습니다. 인공적인 꾸밈이 자연을 이기기는 어려운것 같다는 생각을 하게되었습니다.
직원들 모두 너무 과하지 않으면서 매우 친절합니다.
머무는 동안 마음이 편했습니다. 다만 Bar에서 근무하시는 남자직원분이 매우 무뚝뚝하여 의아한 생각이 들었습니다.
식사도 과하지도 않으면서 적당하였고 먹을만했습니다.
저녁 식사 서빙하는 분이 어리고 경험이 많지 않아보였지만 친절함과 배려심이 느껴졌습니다.
직원들 대우를 잘 해 주는지 모두들 진심으로 일하는게 느껴지는 료칸입니다.
공용 온천이 3개이며 이 중 2개는 폭포 및 계곡과 잘 어우러져 있습니다. 나머지 하나는 실내탕인데 규모는 작지만 포근합니다.
Private 가족탕이 총 5개이며 객실에도 노천온천이 있습니다.
온천하다보면 시간이 다 지나갑니다.
계곡을 끼고있으며 물소리가 듣기 좋습니다. 지형을 잘 이용한 료칸이며 정원은 이끼와 나무로 조경을 잘 해두었습니다.
다시 가고싶은 료칸입니다.

湯巡りでお邪魔させて頂きました。ちょっとした困り事が起きてしまい旅館の方に相談したらスタッフさん総出で助けて頂き事なきを得る事ができました。助かりました。温泉も大分の湯巡り色々行きましたが露天から桜滝も見え湯の質も一番良かったと思います。

立ち寄り湯で初めて伺いました。
結果大正解❗
緑の中の露天風呂でとても風情があり、眼下には滝が流れています。
当日は雨も降ってましたが、
屋根もあり、直接頭に雨粒が降りかかる事も無く、快適な空間でした。
平日だったせいか、人も少なく、
私入れてたった３人。
湯の温度も適温で、湯船から緑の合間に見える霧、滝の音、鳥の鳴き声を聴きながら、身体全体が癒される感じで素晴らしい環境でした。
料金は800円。
10時〜14時までの利用時間です。
この旅館の方がゆっくりあったまって下さいね〜と言われた一言が嬉しいですね。
きっと宿泊しても素晴らしい接客するんでしょうね。
入り口には足湯、玄関横には囲炉裏、
温泉は内湯、家族湯と色々ある様子。
またラウンジはレトロな雰囲気でピアノが流れてました。
昨日は近くの行きつけの露天風呂行ったのですが、残念ながら隣国の若い男性５人が大声で話し、飛び込んでしぶきあげたりして雰囲気台無しでしたので、余計良く感じたのかもしれませんね。
日頃パソコンばかりで、ストレス感じているとここは五感が研ぎ澄まされてくるようで、すっかりファンになりました。

여기는 무조건 강추입니다!! 폭포에서 물 떨어지는 소리 들으면서 침대에 누워있으면 지상낙원이구요 음식들이 하나같이 정말 맛있습니다. 저희는 대나무통에 담아주는 사케 추가해서 먹었는데 진짜 재밌는 경험이었고 완전 대만족이었습니다. 대접받는 느낌 엄청 받으실 수 있는 료칸이예요. 그리고 여기 바는 이용하시는 분들이 별로 안 계셨는데 위스키나 하이볼 좋아하시는 분들은 아마 계속 생각나실 수도 있습니다. 여기 바 담당하시는 분이 뭔가 장인느낌입니다. 야마자키 하이볼도 여기서 먹을 수 있었고 위스키 종류들 엄청 다양합니다. 신선놀음 하기 제격입니다!
