Tsukubasan Shrine

We went on January 3rd after most of the crowds had already visited. After we hiked up Mt. Tsusuba.

Beautiful grounds and buildings, especially the azaleas and wisteria. We visited during Golden Week, so there were lots of fresh green leaves. I'm sure the large gingko tree is beautiful in fall.

If either of the shrines on the mountain peaks are closed for weather-related reasons when you visit, you can purchase the goshuin at this temple. I believe they will confirm that you visited the mountain peaks in order to purchase though. The cable car is nearby as well as a hiking trail, so there were many people in hiking gear.

A great shrine to visit! Just a short walk from the Bus stop, this shrine was huge and impressive, with a lot of things to see. Also this shrine is close to the cable car entrance and the hiking trails to Mount Tsukuba.

Did not enter. Not sure if it was closed but was a wonderful experience to be in this area.

This is a great place to experience a traditional Japanese Shinto Shrine and a powerful spot, surrounded by nature and the Tsukuba Mountain. Perfect for a day trip.

The shrine is tucked in the mountain forest and offers nice views of Tsukuba and Kanto region as far as you can see... Pacific Ocean, Tokyo and even Mt. Fuji when the sky is clear! The shrine is also trailhead for climbing Mt. Tsukuba and the cable car station is nearby. Gift shops, restaurants and hot springs are along the way from the tourist information center, parking lots and bus station down the street. The mountain offers nature’s beauty throughout the year.... plum tree festival, cherry blossoms, hiking, fall colors, new year’s sunrise, Shinto shrine’s seasonal celebrations/events and much more!

The shrine is located in the foot of mount tsukuba. From here, you can see the scenery of Tsukuba down below. Very beautiful. The Shrine is huge and sells variety of amulet.

Beautiful place with good vibes.. Came here at the end of autumn, and the scenery was amazing with colorful trees.

We went for hiking which will take about 1.5 hour to climb. There is a cable car for 600¥ oneway but hiking trail is beautiful. Amazing view from the top.

Well maintained and beautiful shrine at the foot of Mount Tsukuba. Definitely a must-see when visiting the region.

A very old shrine with a lot of history behind it. It is quite popular and one of the famous shrine.

A gorgeous place to visit all year long and a great place for hiking lovers.

Use sun screen when climbing. You'll deffinitely end up with a sunburn in cloudy weather too😅

Most attractive place of tsukuba San. Most peaceful place. I loved it most..you can reach there by bus from tsukuba express station. It will take 35 mins.😄 Happy travel.

If you're into shrines, this is a good one. Especially around hanami

Peaceful place. You can go to the top of Tsukubakan by hiking or cable car. Cable car station located on left hand side. 580 yen/single trip or 1050 yen/round trip
