日蓮正宗の寺院としては古刹で歴史も古く700年を越えます。
戊辰戦争の折りには本堂は官軍に占拠され馬やにされ、御宝蔵、客殿、参道の塔中は焼かれ、総本山大石寺、御歴代　御書写の御本尊も焼失しました。
また、この寺院の歴代住職は総本山大石寺の管長猊下になられた方がいらっしゃいます。
一見の価値あり!!

日蓮正宗総本山大石寺 第3世 日目上人の弟子で、第2世 日興上人に破門された 日尊師(京都要法寺）の開基。
破門後に、日尊師は全国に36カ寺を建立し破門を許された。

会津若松の実成寺は３番目の建立寺院、嘉元元年(1303年)２月に創建の古刹、久遠山実成寺。
