Hotel Monterey Himeji

We loved it. We were ready for comfort and a touch of luxury after staying in compact rooms with small low beds or futons. The Monterey bed was fabulous. The bathroom was first rate. The welcome coffee was most welcome.

This hotel located in a good area, closed to JR station, shopping area, and restaurants. Around 15 minutes walk to Himeiji castle which is nice. Our Japanese type room is big and clean.

The staff is amazing. The rooms are very comfortable with plenty of space for a Japanese hotel. And the location can’t be beat. The Shinkansen is just a few hundred feet away. There’s everything around the hotel and Himeji Castle is just down the road. It’s going to take a couple of days to find everything around the hotel. There’s tons of restaurants and shops within blocks and even some underground in sub levels.The Monterey is a good place to start in the morning and crash at night when you’re tired from walking around all day.

One of the best hotel I stayed in during my Japan trip. The hotel is located near/almost same location to the himeji railway station. There are many shopping street, malls, restaurants around the hotel. From the 14th level restaurant you can see the Himeji castle and it’s good sight 🥰..well recommended

Excellent hotel in an excellent location. Wonderful food options and shopping options around the hotel. The main commercial district was 3 mins away and the Himeji Castle was only 10mins by walking.

Great price and great rooms.

Absolutely delighted walking into our room. So spacious, excellent bed and pillows, clean, separate toilet and bathroom, drip filter coffee, view of the castle, well appointed baths on the 4th floor, I booked really early so great value at 12,000 yen, wish we were staying more than one night, people in town so friendly

Location is superb. 1 min to Himeji train station and Piole shopping centre.
We travel with my 11 year-old kid. They offer an extra bed for him (photo), not many hotels are willing to do this.
Many usb sockets in the room, very considerate.

The hotel is chic and done in a rococo style. The room size is above average for Japan. The location is ideal: close to the station and a short walk away from the castle.

Great hotel, nice amenities, everything in room is great. The best part is the breakfast place that located at 14th floor for you to have breakfast with castle view.

A very beautiful hotel with a lot of beautiful art (paintings, drawings, sculpture) decorated everywhere. Every painting and drawings displayed are worth the time to look at. It's one of the things that makes this hotel unique and beautiful.

Fantastic room, very comfortable with all necessary facilities. Lovely spa with shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. Beautiful reception. Fast Wifi throughout. Very friendly English speaking staff. Integrated 24/7 Lawson.

Beautiful hotel, seems very new and clean. Excellent value, we paid just over 10000 yen for a weeknight stay with breakfast included. Breakfast had great variety and a view of the castle. The room was large for Japanese standards and we had a view of the castle from our room too. There was a public bath in the hotel but we didn't have time for that unfortunately. Amazing location, right next to JR Himeji station and buses, 20 minute walk to the castle. Staff are courteous and speak some English. Will definitely stay again if we come back to Himeji.

Good hotel nice location and good service near to the train and bus station

Love this place. I was actually amazed by the beautiful design of the common places and the room. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of oriental and western stuff to eat.
It is next to the train station and the Himeji Castle is on a walking distance from the hotel.
I totally recommend it. Not a single issue.

This is one of the hotel so centrally located. Near the station, eateries, drinking places, shopping mall, shopping street and many more. So convenient to stay In this hotel. This staff were so efficient and helpful. Very patient and friendly.
We drive to this city and the parking just next to the hotel. So easy to access to the hotel.
The room is standard size for japan standard but it’s enough for 2 person. Very comfortable bed and the facilities in the room is nice too. The breakfast restaurant is awesome. Located at level 14. The view of the city is great and magnificent. We can view the famous Himeji Castle from this point. So beautiful the city. Will surely be staying here again in the near future.
Highly recommended to stay in this hotel if visiting Himeji.
