Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden (Hot-Tubbing Monkeys)

The botanical garden is very beautiful but I think the "main attraction" here are the bathing monkeys outside. You can buy monkey food for 100 yen.

There is also a hot foot bath outside where you can also rent a towel for 100 yen.

Looking at monkey taking a hot bath and feeding them is their main attraction, there is a small tropical garden inside and a small foot bath area.. place is near the airport, so will recommend to go after dropping off your luggage at the the airport. Can take the bus or taxi from the airport conveniently

suggest to just focus on the section of hot-tubbing moneys. you can feed monkey with a pack of cookies buying at the counter when purchasing tickets to enter

First time to see monkeys in the onsen, they we’re so cute and enjoy the hot water too. Also we can see tropical plants here

Affordable attraction! Feeding the monkeys was fun. They are funny and you can see the different personalities in most of them. The garden was nice. Good variety of things to look at. Then dip your feet in the feet only hot spring. You really can’t beat it for the price. That’s why I highly recommend it.

Nice small botanic garden with funny japanese monkey area with feeding and small insekts exposition. Perfect to have a look passing by for 300 yen per adult.

It's so chill as you see monkeys are in hot spring

The monkey will do actions to ask you for food. Some clap, wave, slap the floor or bow to ask you for food. Snack can be bought at 100yen.
There's footpath for you to relax and an mini indoor area of plants and birds.

It was a fun escape from the cold. It’s a small place but really nice, the plants reminded me of Hawaii. The admission was like $3 but well worth it to feed the moneys, they funny. I got their food at the ticket gate for $1 a bag.

The monkeys were great! Now my son wishes he were a bathing monkey 🙈. The gardens were good as well. There was a cool bug, bird and fish displays.

But admissionb is only 300yen.

Second, the location isn't the most convenient.
But there's a bus that will take you there from the station.

Otherwise, it's cute monkies hanging out in an onsen, and a beautiful tropical botanical garden with some birds, reptiles, fish, and insects.

You probably won't spend more than 45 minutes here.

Normally onsen are using for human but in here you will find something different, the onsen for monkey, so happy just looking for the monkey there :)

Our kids love to see these monkeys swimming during winter in the hot spring

Nothing much about the attraction apart from the monkeys who are in the man-made hot spring area.

Love the snow/onsen monkeys. You can buy the feed for them too. Great fun though I spent only 30 mins in there. But worth it.

A must visit if you want to see monkeys soaking in suana. They are so cute. Buy a packet of food at the entrance and enjoy your time with the monkeys.

You can see red face monkey soaking they self in onsen...also you can feed them by buy they food at ticket counter for ¥100. Entering ticket is ¥300
