Bighem Maison

One of our favorite times in Japan was when we were at Bighem Maison. We enjoyed the quiet and very serene neighborhood. We also get to visit a shrine within walking distance with a big cherry blossom tree. Thank you also for letting us borrow your bike. We loved biking around the area. We also passed by a local cafe with really good coffee and cakes. They also assisted us in transporting our big luggage to our next hotel in Tokyo. Indeed, we had a very memorable stay with them. We would love to come back and stay longer on our next visit.

Great place to stay! Quiet and peaceful neighbourhood, Owners are very hospitable. They let us borrow their bikes and almost every eqiupment in the household. They even help us be familiar with Japan's railway system on our everyday trip. Accessible location, near train station and Kansai Airport. You can also find 24hr shops and restaurants nearby. Will definitely go back here!!!

This place is amazing.

First off, let me start on how amazing of a host is Ms. Matte. Ask her something and she will send you everything. Very helpful, detailed and attentive when it comes to our needs and info too as it was our first time in Japan. With lots of recos for restaus, shops and even hacks for travelling, dining, shopping and more!

The rooms were very tidy and organized. No false advertising. Beautifully curated traditional Japanese home that feels just like home. Very safe and secure area. Very near to Kansai airport too. It is somehow a travel to destinations in Osaka but we didn't mind because We all know how efficient commuting in Japan is.

Bighem is near to Cafes, restaurants, shops, and even salons too! Friendly neighborhood and what we love about it is that it is very serene too.

The only downside is that the toilet bidet can dispense icy cold water during winter - but aside from that, I'd consider this stay a perfect pick. Will highly recommend to anyone and everyone travelling to Kansai / Osaka.

Ms. Matte is a superhost, very accommodating, and helpful, especially in guiding us on which trains to ride according to our itinerary. She also suggested places to visit and where to buy souvenirs. Thank you for letting us stay in your humble abode and for your generosity. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back.

Had a lovely stay at Bighem Maison, we always look foward to going home to this traditional Japanese accommodation after going around Kansai, close to train station and the rooms are cleaned everyday. There are great restaurants nearby and the hosts were very accommodating. We stayed here for 5 days, on last day we decided not to go around and just sleep longer, wake up recharged and go around using their bikes. We can't wait to go back and will definitely recommend to friends! ❤😊

If you are looking for a comfortable home away from home, that’s Bighem Maison, Osaka JAPAN. They are close to everything and can be easily reached because the railway station is only 3mins walk away. The place is cozy, clean and smells really good. The owner Ms. Matte (a Filipina) was also kind and helpful with anything, alongside her French husband. On my next Osaka visits, I will definitely stay at Bighem Maison again. And I must say, their price is really very good too. ☺

Bighem Maison was out first stop in Japan and we are so glad it was. Going by other reviews we booked here. Outstanding help and interaction with the hosts, Matte & Eric who went out of there way to welcome us to the neighbourhood. They recommended a knife museum where I bought some knives for work and also they booked a special restaurant for us to try for my wife’s birthday. We had the absolute best day. The food was great and was for special occasions (about 10 courses) you can speak with them about it. We had a private dining room in an old style Japanese home. Our restaurant host was just lovely and friendly as well!! I highly recommend trying the coffee shops in the suburbs (some still allow smoking so you may need to check on that first) but we had some wonderful interaction with local people. Amazing food in the area and plenty of choice. The house itself is so cute and small. They have a dining room if you wanted to eat at home. It’s very reasonably priced.

I highly recommend Bighem Maison! Host was very nice and accomodating, she even helped us finalize our itinerary even to plot our travel (also gave us a lot of tips when shopping ❤). Place is very clean and everything a traveller might need - weighing scale, iron, packing tapes, etc. Definitely a place to stay when in osaka. ❤

Rooms were spacious and you will see that the owners poured their heart in building the house. Ms. Matte and her husband were helpful too.

We had a great time at Bighem Maison. Ms. Matte is incredible. She was very accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions. The place looks exactly like it does in the pictures. The location was great, too. Ms Matte and her husband, Eric recommended and booked a Kaiseki restaurant for our anniversary on our last day in Japan. Indeed it was a great way to end our Japan trip. This couple went way beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Thanks Ms. Matte and Eric for such a wonderful time! We will definitely be back, Lovely Q.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The owners are very helpful and the place is quiet. Quite far from tourist attractions but walking distance from train station. It is accessible to Kansai airport. We had a great experience staying in this lodging. I wish we had more time to stay longer. Will come back again. To owners, thank you for your help during our stay.

I really loved my stay here in Bighem Maison since it’s close to a lot of restaurants and it’s only a few stations away to tourist sites. I saw their post on the internet and I instatly knew that we have to stay there! And it did not disappoint! 🤗 What you see in the photos are what it really looks like in person! The rooms are spacious and they always keep the house clean and it also smells amazing. Miss Matte and her husband has been very helpful and accommodating and they helped us in all ways that they can offer. What I also loved in my stay is that Miss Matte lent us her bikes and we used it to go to nearby restaurants. ☺ I would definitely go back and I recommend you guys to stay here. Originally, we planned to stay there for only 10 days but since we loved the place, we extended our stay for 5 more days. ☺☺

It's a home away from home. I really love the interior design of the house. It's very relaxing after a tiring day. I also like the serenity of the neighborhood. Also, it is near the train station & airport as well.

I would like to thank Ms.Matte for lending a helping hand all the time. It's really a big help for me especially it's a DIY family trip.

The design of the place was vintage and you can really feel the Japanese living back in time. The owners were super kind and helpful. Plus+ they are fluent in English, Filipino and Japanese. The mansion is just nearby train stations so it wont take you lots of time to find trains to go to nearby tourist attractions in Osaka. Thank you so much.

Location is a 4minute walk from train station. Very near also to Kansai Airport, convenience store and some food restau.

They will lend you their bicycles if you want to roam around (for free). We tried this one at night to go to ramen house nearby. How cool was that? 😊

We had a great stay at Bighem Maison. Instead of feeling like an outsider, we felt like we're locals. The place is surrounded with good restaurants and cafes and an easy access to Namba and Kansai airport. It's also close to the train station. The hosts are amazing and accomodating. They attended to all our needs and even provided us with some good travel and shopping tips! We are really thankful and we appreciate their kindness to us.
