Takada Castle Site Park

Sakura season is now in full bloom, if you are planning to visit, the best time us now. Very beautiful park specially at night.

Large park. Nice to walk through with greenery all around. Too crowded in the cherry blossom season but worth to visit. Lots of tasty food stall in cherry blossom season. One of the best park in Japan for cherry blossom.

Really nice park with a small castle and moat

Very beautiful park. Worth putting in your itinerary if you happen to visit Joetsu or nearby towns in Niigata. Lots of statues. Nice for a leisurely walk. Benches around the area, too. Great for sunset viewing. And photography if it’s your interest. Plus Takada Castle is also within the area.

Great time and the best cheery blossoms we have seen. Be warned this is in Joetsu city and not Niigata city which is 2.5 hours away bu train. We found the Art Hotel to be great and walking distance to the park for both day and evening viewing.

This is a beautiful park to walk around in. The view of the castle with hydrangeas was perfect. The moat is loaded with koi, which I could watch all day!

A must-see for any visitor to Joetsu. Takada Park is home to the three-turreted Takada Castle and one of the top-rated locations in Japan to experience the annual sakura hanami festival. Additionally, it is an ideal spot to view the abundant Lotus Blossoms that blossom each year. The Ogawa Mimei Literature Museum is also on the park grounds, as well as the newly-constructed Joetsu City History Museum. From Takada Station, Takada Park can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot.

The park is full of Cherry Blossoms and a lot of food stalls available so you can enjoy walking in the park and eat your favorite food! A lot of foreigners and youtubers in the area!

Gorgeous autumn colours in late November. Plenty of free toilets, climbing tower and, of course, drink vending machines.

After spending two weeks chasing cherry blossoms around Japan, Takada Park has been the highlight. Beautiful in the day, and magical at night with the blossoms lit up in various colours. The various food stalls means you can easily spend hours taking in the beauty. Parking was a total nightmare in the evening, so just catch a bus and avoid the hassle of walking from what felt like the next town.

Very nice park for a walk. Lush and verdant, lots of trees, and big bodies of water. Great sights, well-tended.

I visited here during the Sakura festival and it was truly amazing! It was literally sea of flowers surrounding the castle. I highly recommend visiting the park any time of year. Make sure to go into the castle museum get the best view of the park from the top!

Cool park. Lots of English sign boards. Park is beautiful in all seasons obviously. Definitely worth a visit or three.

Even if its not sakura season for Joetsu yet we see Sakura.
You can take a walk and relax.

It was worth it to drive for hours to visit.
There are some food stands and people eat and walk, so if you are afraid of being infected, better not to go.

Takada Park has approximately 4000 cherry trees on site, it is counted as one of the three spectacular night views with cherry blossoms in Japan. If you come here, definately during the spring. However, near by there are water lilies blooming around the outer moat of the castle which appear during the summer season. And closed by there is Kobayashi Kokei's house who's a famous painter.

Literally the most beautiful location during the Cherry Blossom season. It has been planted with 4000 sakura trees so the entire area becomes a sea of white, and is one of the only places in the world with a forest of white cherry blossom, whilst having a simultaneous view of the mountains and water. Try to come on a weekday instead of weekend to avoid the crowds.

This park is ranked as Japanese's third greatest cherry blossoms night view. There are around 4000 cherry trees, lit up by 3000 paper lanterns. Parking is 500¥. There are lots of food carts are available on the spot.

Beautiful park, especially during cherry blossom season. They have food vendors and stalls during hanami. The castle itself is pretty underwhelming, but the park is great for walking around.
