Frigging beautiful at sunset. Great smaller shrine with no entry fee, only 300 yen parking. Short hike through the Tori to the main over look. Worth the visits especially at golden hour

The stunning rolling tori on the northern tip of Yamaguchi. Glorious views of the 123 red gates flowing across the landscape, with the ocean sitting peacefully behind. Gets very busy on nice days, with the traffic queue for car parking tedious.

The scenery is breathtaking...
If not for the cold weather we would loved to spend more time there.
There's also a small stall selling hot coffee and do take note of the closing time.
I think it's 4:30pm if I recall correctly.

Magnificent view!!!

Motonosumi Inari Shrine is not to be missed by anyone who is planning a trip to visit Fukuoka or the city nearby. The spectacular shrine is located approximately 3 hour's drive from Fukuoka. There is no public transport available in order to travel to the Shrine location. The only option is to drive or follow a day tour.

The Shrine is located on a cliff overlooking the beautiful sea and blue sky. The 123 Tori gates will lead you to a breathtaking view of the place. The steps through the Tori gates are not difficult to climb but perhaps not recommended for the elderly.

In love with this shrine. The water is absolutely beautiful and it was a fantastic view. This was a great time of year to do this shrine as it was cool getting the breeze off the water but not too cold.

Amazing views and sunsets from where the rock cliffs are. Shine and the temple it self is nice. Feels calm and peaceful.

Gorgeous views and such an incredible place! Was possible to get a parking spot even during Obon holidays. Not too many people. Highly recommend for visiting ❤⛩

Beautiful Jinja shrine, overlooking a magnificent cliff on the seaside. It's not easy to get there and there's a lot of driving involved, but once you arrive there's a spacious parking lot (although paid) and it's very enjoyable to walk around.
Make sure to bring a hat or umbrella, because the sun can be quite strong!
Also, don't forget to toss a coin on top!

This place was impressive, and the views from here are beautiful. Be advised that if it rains you’ll be walking in mud, so prepare for that. Other than navigating the mud it was an awesome experience and we were able to cross this one out from our bucket list. A must visit while in the area.

The most picturesque Inari Shrine dedicated to the Kitsune. Yes, it may be relatively new, 1955, but it is still serene and beautiful. IMHO, the most picturesque Inari shrine, and way way less crowded than the one in Kyoto. Went on 9 Dec, winter. Mostly local tourists were there.

Very beautiful and one of the more unique and picturesque Inari Shrines in Japan! A little bit of a trip, that should be incorporated into other activities in the area.

The sunset here is stunning and unbelievable.

Really suggest finding the time to come out here.

If you are in Yamaguchi Prefecture, this is a must go place, The view of the ocean, mountain, sky and several hundreds of toriis are making this shrine extra ordinary.
It could be very slippery and dangerous on a rainy day.
It is very crowded on weekends.
Paid parking available but you may have to wait for hours on weekends.

This place is really unique. The red tories add a nice contrast to the rocks and the ocean. Plenty of parking lots and some restaurants are opposite of the shrine. The road leading to the shrine is offering nice views of the ocean.

While this shrine is a little bit out of the way from other tourist attractions, this shrine is worth the visit to see the 123 bright tori gates along the water. There is quite a large pay parking lot right at the shrine, plus a gift shop and clean bathrooms.

Famous tourist attractions with Japanese signature torii. Good for photo taking with the seaview and potentially sunset watching. Only point to note is that it closes at 16:30 which is quite early, and you may not be able to enter the shrine after that.

Incredible place to visit in the evening just before sunset. Get the timing right and this place will reward you with a peaceful and spectacular experience. 100% must see if in Yamaguchi prefecture.

As far as I know, it was choosen as a one of the most beautiful place in Japan. I agree with that. You can walk down to the edge of the cliff, so you will find some small shrines. However, be careful to get closer. It is pretty scared and dengeros though.

The car park is very crowded during holidays but people seem to come and go quickly so we didnt wait long to enter. The citrus ice cream at the souvenir vendor was really delicious.
The children enjoyed trying to throw their coin into the donation box on top of the biggest gate!
