Sadeen Rent A Car Co

I have just finished a rental with the Amman branch of Green Motion which I believe is another brand name for Sadeen, my reservation number was jo599790030.

I was served by Mohammad Nazzal for both pickup and drop off.

I am absolutely gobsmacked by the blatant attempts to scam customers. This is a real shame.

1. After picking up the car Mohammad Nazzal was very keen to show me where the local petrol station was and drove down there with me. On filling up I was told that the pump had stopped at 20JD and he was then going to reset it. It then apparently clocked up another 35JD and I was charged a total of 55JD. What in fact had happened was only 35JD of fuel was put in but I was charged 55JD and the 20JD was most likely split between Mohammed Nazzal and the pump attendant in colusion.

This is evidenced by the fact that the next time I went to fill up a full tank I realised the capacity was at most 35JD. Apparently this is a common scam in Jordan having read TripAdvisor.

Mohammed Nazzal from Green Motion completely assisted the pump attendant in colusion with him. I also have receipts evidencing the supposed fill up of 55JD which is physically impossible in a Hyundai Elantra which has a much smaller capacity.

2. On drop off of the car back to Mohammad Nazzal he advised me there was a speeding fine on the car. I can't remember ever speeding but he bought up a screen all in Arabic on the government website that apparently said there were 2 fines on one day.

I don't read Arabic but after the petrol station incident I was extremely sceptical so I asked for him to translate the website on Google translate. I also noticed on the Google reviews other people had potentially been scammed this way so I wanted to investigate further before paying.

When he opened a new window to translate the give website into English he said he didn't know the login details. I wonder how had he had logged in the first time moments before to show me the fine? Perhaps a saved password from a previous internet session, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here.

So I proceeded to copy and paste every word of Arabic from his logged in session into Google translate and there was only 1 fine not 2. When I exposed him on this point he realised he had been caught and said don't worry about it.

After realising he had been caught and after I also confronted him about the petrol incident his whole attitude changed. He didn't help us get our luggage in and out as he did before and sat in the car the whole time when he dropped us off at the airport. He didn't deny the petrol incident and instead tried to blame the pump attendant, when in fact he was the one translating to the pump attendant, telling him what to do and advising me of this 'pump reset procedure'.

I will be raising this matter with the Jordanian police, tweeting all political persons in Jordan and contact the relevant tourism boards.

I am not really concerned about getting my money back, this is purely a matter of principle as Jordan is a beautiful country and tourists should be treated honestly. I will not stop until there is a formal apology from Green Motion, a formal apology from Mohammad Nazzal, assurance that steps have been taken to ensure other tourists aren't scammed by Green Motion and their staff, and perhaps some compensation for my time in looking out for future tourists by rectifying this problem, which looks like a recurring one judging by other reviews online.
