Digicel store where you can get phone chips (sims) and credit. Unfortunately the queues are very very long especially if you want a new phone sim card (chip). Expect to be queuing for about an hour if you go in the afternoon.

Unfortunately my experience today was unprofessional and lacked political correctness (PC).

Previously, I purchased data for my phone and the cashier at the desk put the data on for me ... however, the 'Do not dusturb' was touched in the process. As a Psychologist I rely on my phone a great deal.

This morning I asked the cashier to put the data on again (I shared my previous experience when she put the data on the phone) and suggested she call the phone, to ensure the phone was not silenced again.

Hence, the phone was showing the missed call, but had no ring. After at least 15 minutes of the cashier having difficulty trying to figure out why the phone was silent, she explained:
(THIS IS MY MAIN CONCERN) in a derogatory manner, 'phonetically' sounding out her words as though I was 'deaf' or could not understand English, which all took place infront of two customers, the cashier said I had blocked unknown numbers (which I was aware of).

That may have been the case on this occasion (which took 15 minutes to resolve), but the fact remains this is the second time and as a representative of Digicel: problem solving, PC and professionalism is key.

• As a representative of Digicel, one must be mindful communicating with customers and the general public.

• As a customer I feel it my duty to highlight concerns to avoid repercussions or on a positive note put in place further training.

I look forward to my next purchase from Digicel.
