Our stay at Pimento Lodge was absolutely wonderful. Mr. Llod and Mrs. Kate are such kind and attentive individuals, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay with their interesting and gentle conversations. The entire staff is helpful and friendly, the accommodations are impeccably clean, and the overall infrastructure is fantastic. The pool area and rooms offer stunning ocean views, and the surroundings are embraced by nature. We highly recommend this place! We hope to see you again soon

My family and I stayed at Pimento Lodge for 8 days In January 2024 - what a wonderful experience. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, I found myself exploring the gardens and watching/listening to the birds each day. The view of the ocean from the lodge's high vantage point was a great start to each day and the ocean breeze at night made for some excellent sleeps. We had hours of fun in the pool with our 4-year old daughter and enjoyed our breakfasts each morning which included superb coffee, fruits, and local dishes such as ackee and saltfish. The walk into town each day was a great way to see Long Bay, a beautiful area with a very mellow vibe. Above all, we got to spend time with the owners of Pimento Lodge, Llyod and Kate, a very sweet and loving couple who made us feel right at home.

Take the excellent breakfast, enjoy the salt pool, relax on your own balcony or cool off with the AC in a lovingly furnished room.

Portland is perhaps the Caribbean’s best kept secret. A place where ocean blues and azuls meet white sanded beaches and the tropical forested hills beyond. Importantly, is is a place where an authentic Jamaica and Jamaicans have not yet been muscled out by an invasive tourism looking to colonise their beaches from the exclusive, ivory confines of implanted resorts.

And, after a day at Winnifred or Boston Beach, dinner at Long Bay and a few too many rum mixers, there’s no better place to rest your head than Pimento.

We arrived at the hotel after a long drive, Lloyd the owner of the hotel greeted us, he accompanied us to our room. The room was very nice, spacious and very clean.
Outside the room there is a table and two chairs so you can enjoy sitting outside. The surroundings of the hotel is very beautiful, lots of flowers and trees. Along with Lloyd is his wife Kate, Kate is an amazing cook, we really enjoyed the meals.
Kate and Lloyd are kind hosts, we really enjoyed chatting with them and hearing their story. For those looking to escape the noise this is definitely the place for you, quiet and calm. You will not be disappointed when you get here. Accommodation above expectations.

Pimento is a cozy hideaway resort with lovely rooms, spectacular views and charming amenities. The grounds are filled with various fruit trees and the rooms are perched on a slope so you feel the ocean breeze. Definitely an amazing experience, if only for a short conversation with Lloyd and Kate! They are the best hosts that you will find in Jamaica - kind, full of stories and jokes, truly a lovely couple.

Pimento Lodge is a beautiful place and I felt so relaxed in this spiritual place. Nothing was too much trouble from the host’s and their staff. The rooms were accommodating and spacious and they have an amazing pool.

Amazing place - a small paradise with seaview surrounded by nature.
We stayed at Pimento Lodge for 10 days together with our two kids and it was simply perfect. Located a little bit on the hill there is a great view over the sea and the forest. The Lodge itself got a beautiful huge garden with Pool. We felt home from the minute we arrived, the owner Lloyd and his wife Kate gave us a warm welcome and they fulfilled all our wishes during our stay. Every morning we had a homemade jamaican breakfast which was very delicious. The rooms where spacious and clean. We would like to thank Lloyd and Kate for this great time we had and we can't wait to come back:-)

Loved staying here!!! I just got home and miss it already.... Lloyd and Kate are such wonderful hosts! There is a very nice pool onsite if you can't make it to the beach. Clean rooms with a small table for eating and a mini fridge for a couple Red Stripes! All the rooms have a balcony so you can open the doors to get the lovely breeze. AC and coffee maker in the rooms as well. We had most of our meals at the Lodge. Kate and Ms. Dawn made us very tasty food, most of which has been grown on the property or picked up locally. Nicole and Latoya were very friendly and helpful. Eduardo was out there working hard on the grounds everyday. Very lucky to have stayed there and we can't wait to go back!!

Lovely Place - the slightly more expensive rooms are huge, pretty and comfortable with stunning views and Long Bay integrates guests easily into the small community. Lloyd is an excellent host with a lot of positive vibes! We enjoyed our 4day stay and were sad when we had to leave.

We have stayed with our daughter at Pimento Lodge end of Feb beginning of March 2018 for 4 nights. Loyd and his charming wife Kate has been our perfect hosts and became our friends. The place looks absolutely amazing with luxury rooms. We never slept so good in Jamaica as in the Pimento Lodges beds!
If you don't like to stay in the touristic huge resorts around Ochio Rios and feel/touch the REAL Jamaica this is the place to be. Close to the estate are local places to eat (pizza at Likkle Italy is a great experience!) and drink and meet nice people. But also check the Frenchman Cove and Winnifred Beach. I'm sure we will return. Thanks for you hospitality xx

My husband, St Hope Earl McKenzie, and I, along with my daughter and her husband visiting from California, spent three perfectly wonderful days and nights at Pimento Lodge. It couldn't have been more perfect, despite the weather not being typically tourist season tropically warm. The rooms were perfect, great bed, awesome view of the sea, a balcony veranda to luxuriate in with thoughts, a book, a conversation -- or a writing notebook as the setting inspires creativity. The landscaped grounds are exquisite, the pool terrific, the made-to-order meals delicious and responsive to Jamaican and non-Jamaican palates. AND -- the friendliness and warmth of Kate and Lloyd contributed greatly to an unforgettable stay. We hope to return many times.

Pimento Lodge, named after pimento trees growing in the property is a beautifull place in tranquil surroundings. You can relax by the pool and bar offering fantastic view of the ocean. The nearby Long Bay is good for swimming or surfing.
All rooms are spacious with king size bed, offering ocean view.
There is always a breeze and nights are fresh, so there was no need of a/c.
The owner was most helpfull and expert im preparing drinks and his wife made delicious fish dinner. He organized rafting down Great River.
For us it was a perfect place to access all the beaches and places from Port Antonio to Reach Falls

Fantastically appointed individual lodges set high above a natural cliff, this is really a fantastic spot to stay.

The owners are very welcoming and take good care to look after you - breakfast through dinner is available poolside and the atmosphere is as laid back as you would hope to find on the quiet coast of Eastern Jamaica

The view is really amazing. The hotel is at the top of a hill with no obstructions. The owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food was great too.

There are a few good beaches and restaurants near by as well, but you won't be able to walk between them. Having a car made it easy for us.

If want to stay on this side of the island and don't want to spend as much as the other resorts in the area, give this one a shot.

Great stay, quiet, serene, peaceful. Jamaican family own lodge with great views of nature and water. Felt like home Mr. Edwards, wife and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent place to get away from the noise and stress, just relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, the sound of birds chirping and wind through the leaves. Beautiful place.
