After a horrible drive to 9 mile, we finally got to Bob Marleys Mausoleum.
The guide was very nice and knowledgeable. It was so interesting. Happy I seen this place but wouldn't go back because of the bad roads

This place is very emotional. A great part of my visit to the island. I am a massive fan and it felt very surreal.to be at the place he was born and grew up with his family and then put to rest. A worthwhile visit for me. I can appreciate it won't be for everyone or be moved by it.

Be advised the roads in any direction to nine mile aren't great. Really not great, some parts dirt road and asphalt with crater sized potholes. It can be an arduous journey for the wrong car/driver.

Once arrived you will see the sign stating parking inside. Do NOT park outside. Park at the massive blue doors and the security guard will open the door so you can park inside. If you park outside on the main road, you will be hassled by the many vendors outside, they will take you on a fake tour of the "Marley's" weed plantation, give you or offer weed and after that will demand you pay $20 US for the 5 minutes. Avoid them at all costs unless you want to be swindled.

The crazy tour guide is fun and informative. Won't be to everyone's tastes but he's been doing this over 40 years and there's nothing he doesn't know about Bob and his entire extended family.

You can buy weed/brownies/infused teas inside on the main tour.

Whether you're a Bob Marley fan or not, we loved this trip and would highly recommend it. They do take you to a hut where they talk about their produce, (weed etc) you have a choice to buy or not, there's no pressure, it's also legal.
We saw where he was born, his mum lived, his other little house, the church they built, his mums mausoleum and his own where he rests with his brother. What a great place.

This is a culturally and spiritually magnificent site showcasing the final resting spot of one of the most influential icons of the 20th century. It took me about 1.5 hours to drive to Nine Mile from Ocho Rios but it was definitely worth the trip. Along with the impressive mausoleum of Bob Marley, there are other members of his family buried here including his beloved mother. Our charismatic tour guide Cap’n Crazy had a great sense of humour and was a wealth of knowledge pertaining to the life and achievements of Bob Marley. The Nine Mile Reggae Land memorial site also has several gift shops selling high quality Bob Marley memorabilia. The staff at the site was courteous and respectful. The entrance fee was reasonable. This is a must see memorial to one of the world’s greatest artists.

If you are a Bob Marley fan, this is the place to go.

Words of advice: When you get to the museum, there will be two big doors on the left. Drive up to the gate. "Do not let the locals tell you where to park" the museum personnel with have you drive in and park.

Loved this place and the stories. The tour guides were fun, and it was an experience of a lifetime to smoke one in Bobs room. Yes, they try and sell you stuff, but just do what you can to help support the people of jamaica and the Bob Marley foundation.

And I even scored some real Jamaican lambs breath herb from nine mile and it was decent too!

I actually drove up there in a rental car and it was just mad it the full experience.

What a day..

What an experience, very interesting whether you are a Bob Marley fan or not. The story of his short life was so informative and the history of how he influenced and helped the local people of Jamaica was a revelation.

I enjoyed the museum and learning about the life of Bob Marley. It is a hike up alot of stairs, but well worth it. Being on that mountain felt like a sacred space. Also, Marijuana smoking in allowed!! Try the cannabis tea!

Paying respects to Bob Marley was the primary reason for our Jamaica visit. Walking inside the two small rooms of the hut he lived in, and around his grave above the ground, was a religious experience.

If your in Jamaica then you have to visit the islands legends birth and resting place. The tour team are excellent and give you a good insight into Bob and his life, with more knowledge on the Rastafarian lifestyle. There is a live reggae band after the tour, with cold beer and hot food served if you need it, also a few gift shops. Be prepared marijuana is a way of life for these guys so offering you a spliff and smoking it around the tour is normal. To get to 9 mile is right up in the mountains so make sure you go with a reputable tour guide. Overall this was a great place to visit, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Super cool place.

Bob Marley's birthplace in Nine Mile, St. Ann (parish). I learned at least one new thing on this tour: Bob and Bunny Wailer share a sister.. interesting stuff.
