Top of the Food St. Moritz

We had no idea of what to expect and it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences in St. Moritz. At first we were a little confused because it is a specialty food store offering the finest small production foods from Italy that closes at 7:00 pm and we had reservations for 7:00. But when we arrived, the proprietors treated us like family, preparing a delicious meal all from items available from the shop. There was no menu, we just talked about what we might like and Mau and Chicca prepared the most delicious tuna pasta dish along with all the accompaniments. Highly recommended.

Not only a grocery store, it's a personalized gastro experience! The products they carry and make you taste are amazing, but most of all, the charm, attentive nature and personalized care of their owners, Maurizio and Chicca, will enchant you right away! You can schedule a wine/product tasting with pasta which they prepare on the spot with the high quality products the store carries. Not to be missed!

Top of the Food is a great place to buy Italians Selected Gourmet products especially if you like your recipes to be perfect.

I will take it for sure as The Place to buy groceries in town, and definitely like The Place to have a nice Osteria experience, if you know what I mean.

This is a must-visit (over and over) when staying in St. Moritz. Chicca and Maurizio do an incredible job curating the shop and one of my favorite experiences is having dinner with them (Maurizio's pastas are incredible). Or simply swinging through for a coffee and a snack and enjoy their vibrant company. Either way it will be a highlight of your visit.

What can I say? I love Top of the Food!!!! It’s my happy place. I love everything about it - the finely selected and oh so yummy products, the cosy atmosphere, the meals served. And above all the dedication and the love the hosts, Chicca and Maurizio put into their beautiful store. The way they choose and present the products -
their way of storytelling and recipe sharing, the way they make you feel as a guest and customer! So go there! Let Chicca inspire you when she talks about the spaghetti production and the freshly delivered Mozzarella from Neapel. And indulge in a big plate of pasta, cooked a la minute by Maurzio and with the delicious products from their store. It’s truly a Top of the Food treat. Every time!

This place provided what St Moritz was lacking: warmth. Yes there are top quality Italian provisions and the taste of food is outstanding, but those things on their own wouldn’t make us go back to town — it’s the unexpected charisma, attentiveness and warm feeling people get treated to once someone steps in the door. Kika and Mauritzio are there to explain, to share and after a few minutes, folks just want to stay to hang out. I will definitely go back to enjoy their pasta, but it may actually be for a recharge of the human spirit — especially in a cold winter day.

Love this gem of a shop! They have a wide selection of unique items including jams, cold cuts, wine, cheese, and so much more! Really the best, actually, the top of what Italian food has to offer. The real asset of the store is the owners, though, Chicca and Maurizio are so welcoming, kind and passionate about it, they personally picked every single one of the items the sell and they can entertain you with the history, the characteristics of every product. And even better you can taste them! And they might even cook a fantastic pasta for you! You must check this out when in the area. Would be a wonderful place to get gifts, too!

The owners, Chicca and Maurizio, curate their product palette personally - with so much love and passion… the store offers the best Italian pasta, amazing sugos, the finest cold cuts and cheeses as well as a variety of great wines and truffle products. Seasonally you’ll also find the best panettones and other italian specialities. If in St.Moritz - this is definately one of the MUST GO places for everyone that loves the italian cuisine.

I discovered the shop by chance. I’ve been welcomed by the lovely owners of that place who made me try so many different delicacies and excellencies… a true culinary journey! 🚀Their wine selection is amazing. 😍 I ended up buying the best Torrone I’ve ever had in my life😋, an incredible pasta made with antique grains, just on annother level🤩, and a delicious fish sauce.
Ever since I’ve been coming regularly! Sometimes for a plate of pasta cooked by Maurizio👨🏻‍🍳 with a lot of love or to enjoy amazing Italian style ‘aperitivo’ with Chicca❣(the owners). Anyway, if you’re close, make sure you check it out! It’s a gem 💎🩷

Ci si sente sin da subito accolti in famiglia e ci si perde in chiacchiere e degustazioni. Non si può non provare un piatto di pasta cucinato al momento da Maurizio potendolo seguire passo per passo nelle fasi della preparazione e raccogliendo i suoi segreti.

Locale curato nei minimi dettagli con prodotti artigianali, di eccellenza e di altissima qualità. Inoltre, Maurizio e Kika (i proprietari) sono super informati su tutta la loro selezione e sanno consigliare al meglio. As Chef of a large hotel I was able to use Maurizio and Chicca's products, now they are an integral part of my menus! It is no coincidence that their company is called "top of the food", in fact only the best from their products ! without neglecting the relationship with the customer: availability, punctuality, seriousness
