Out of the season is quite and clean, perfect for walking early in the morning. Well preserved the caves are very popular “must see” in Anzio.

I believe Italy has too many ruins... On others countries, a place like this would be valued much more .

The caves are the old seafront mansion of emperor Nero.
It's worth to visit , expecially in the late Summer when tourist crowds are gone. The beach Is free and warm, the Little bays are stunning and the tunnels in the rocks are a must to go..don't miss the of you are in Anzio!

Fantastic history old and new at this location. The remains of Nero's villa line the beach and are very well preserved.

The beach is also one of the two used in 1944 during the first landings in Italy by Allied forces. Chains used to dock ships remain in the surf.

Also visible in the water are the remains of Roman era sea walls. They stretch more to the southern end of the beach and around the small bluff.

Beautiful beach, some parts are free and others are private. It is very clean - it has a blue flag. You can swim and sunbathe with the remains Nero's beach palace behind you. It is very easy to get here from Rome - simply take a train from Termini to Anzio and then walk towards the sea.

It's been a long drive, but worth travelling to the middle of the Land. Amore mio and me visited the relatives and I could meet even some more Family members ❤🙏🏻 We shared so much of delicious food and for my Beloved Man, who should have known this will happen, as soon as we arrive at the beach. It came the legendary moment of better stopping me from hovering the entire Anzio beach, searching for sooo many MUPFELN 🐚 🐚 🐚.... awwwe!
It was amazing

Well, free access, free WiFi, free beach to enjoy a hot afternoon. Free enjoyment for kids and grown-ups by the sea, where you can go on a scavenger hunt for seashells, lay down a mat for a sunbathe, et cetera. There are lifeguard stations every 200 Mrs and huge wave breakers 50 MTS into the sea.

Beautiful scenery filled with Roman history. Calm waves on a beautiful sandy beach framed by the ruins of Nerone's villa.
