Villa d'Este

As a wedding photographer, shooting here is simply magical! The rooms are super elegant and the general aesthetic of this villa gives a timeless look to the pictures. The gardens are so huge and well maintained! The mosaic area is a great frame for styled romantic intimate shots. It has a strategic position in the lake and using the private dock you can then easily move around the lake! We recommend staying here with no doubts!

Spent new years here with my wife and children and stayed a few nights and loved it. Beautiful location, good service, good food. Had breakfast, lunch and new years brunch here. All experiences were good.
Dog friendly. They provided our dog with a nice dog bed, two bowls, a welcome package (grooming kit). We were able to take our dog with us everywhere within the premises.
The surroundings are very picturesque. I loved the "jogging path" in site.
I look forward to coming back amd would definitely recommend the villa to anyone.

A first class hotel in all respects. The public areas are grand, yet warm and inviting. The service is that expected from a top hotel where no request is too impossible to fill, from last minute water taxi request to dessert in our room. An important milestone birthday was remembered by the staff from check-in to meals finished with a sweet treat. The furnishings of the room were a tad dated and monastic, but I suspect a refit is in the near future to keep pace with newer properties on the lake. The restaurants are varied and each perfect for its niche meaning you really need never leave the property. And the gardens and pool are amazing. Period. Along with its perfect setting right on the shore of Lake Como, Villa d'Este is magical and we can't wait to return.

Stunning luxurious property! Out of this world. The service was impeccable. They made sure we had an amazing stay. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Overall food quality is great in the Grill and Veranda restaurants. Location is a bit farther from Bellagio area but it's okay. I'd love to go back again.

Very luxurious and nice hotel. The hotel is amazing and the service is even better. It's older, so there are some slight issues (i.e. my shower didn't have the strongest water pressure). But otherwise, it's an amazing place to stay. The morning breakfast has a great spread. The food is good at the restaurants, but I don't think it's worth the prices compared to other places I have eaten.

Villa d'Este is much more than a 5-star hotel, it is an extraordinary experience on the shores of Lake Como since 1873. Beautifully maintained, it exudes an aura of refinement and prestige.
The conference facilities are impressive, offering a varied choice of modern rooms bathed in natural light. With 152 Renaissance-style rooms, the hotel blends historic elegance with modern amenities.
The service is simply excellent, and the chef will delight you with exceptional menus. Whether you are here for a business event or a romantic getaway, I highly recommend this establishment.

This is a beautiful property, stunning views, epitome of luxury, clean, comfortable, excellent service, excellent dining options, worth every penny! Hotel transportation was a bit over priced, so I would likely hire an external company to manage my transportation during my next stay. The breakfast was great, but could do with more quality assortments. Anyway, I look forward to returning!

Wonderful 5 star service! I stayed at Christmas time and the lights in the hotel and surrounding gardens are stunning. Rooms are super clean, housekeeping comes twice a day. Once in the morning and at night for turndown service. The food is pricey but excellent. Concierge are happy to help with anything. They even helped me to mail a Christmas package to family in the United States. Piano in the Canova Bar plays until midnight. Great place for an aperitivo!

Hotel provides a car service to nearby restaurants during day and night as a courtesy service and also has indoor and outdoor tennis courts , gym, spa, and golf facilities nearby.There is also small boats available to discover more of Lake Como which I highly recommend

I love that as a woman I was given a menu with no prices in the restaurant. It's such a lovely touch that I really appreciated!

I love that the hotel keeps the access to the grounds restricted for guests only. It makes the stay very relaxing and exclusive.

We had an amazing three night stay at Villa D'Este in late October 2023. This is still THE place to stay in Como, with no disrespect to the handful of other amazing properties on the lake. The history, the garden, the staff, the rooms, the waterfront, the pool, is all extraordinary and unforgettable. Hotel ratings groups can't put the same hotel number one every year for 100 years - otherwise this would be it.

Our stay at Villa D'Este was wonderful. We only wish we could have seen all the lights for Christmas. Everything and everyone at the hotel were excellent. We can't wait to visit again.

FABULOUS in every way. From the moment we arrived by car, we were greeted with smiles and happy staff who treated us very well. The property is stunning and awesome every where you look or go. Food was very good every day in all 3 restaurants and the rooms are well maintained. Bedding and linens were very luxurious and the fitness center offered something for everyone's workout. Grounds and views are beautiful and the pool looked fabulous. Unfortunately, cold and rainy weather came in for 3 days so we were unable to experience it but when we return, we will make up for that. Service and staff are impeccable!

We stayed at the Villa D'Este for 3 days in early October 2023 and I can't recommend this place enough. The hotel is magical and is worth the extremely high price to experience a truly memorable holiday at one of the best hotels we have ever visited. We traveled around the lake for a day and visited a few other hotels, including the Mandarin, the Passalacqua and Villa Serbelloni, and the Villa D'Este was in our opinion much nicer and offered a lot more than those other properties. The hotel and lager immaculately maintained grounds have an aura of history and fin-de-siècle grandeur that will stay with you long after you leave the hotel. The food is out of this world and the service was impeccable. The location is very convenient as it is close to Como and Milan. Some of the other luxury resorts in Como are much further away and require taking a very long and taxing ride on narrow and winding roads to get to the property, and once you are there you don't have a lot of options in terms of what you can do around the lake unless you take a boat. We found the Villa D'Este's location to be ideal for us. Highly recommended.

Many of my heroes such as Helmut Newton and Slim Aarons have made famous and iconic pictures on the property, so it was such a joy to find these unique locations.
The staff, the service, the rooms, and the overall experience have been incredible ....possibly my favorite hotel in the world.

There’s not much to be said about Villa d’Este that hasn’t already been said by every major hotel review publication on the planet. It’s quite simply one of the most beautiful properties in all of Europe. We happened to be there on Bastille Day, which while not a normal day of celebration for us was made quite lively with a fantastic fireworks display (we skipped the 650 euro per person dinner). One of the highlights was renting a cool wooden motorboat for an hour and driving it around Lake Como—definitely would do that again. We ate dinner outside at the bar terrace overlooking the lake and absolutely loved it. Will definitely return!

This was our fifth time staying at Villa d'Este. It greatly surpassed all of our hopes like each of the prior times we have had the pleasure to spend time beside the lake here. The service is impeccable and the can-do attitude is unfailing and uncommonly capable and skilled. This hotel and its grounds and its staff at all levels are at the very top of the world class tier. The people who work at the hotel are extremely kind, sophisticated, and knowledgeable about everything. The food and meals are all world class and it just gets better and better somehow. This is our favorite hotel of any we have ever visited in the world.

The restaurant at Villa D'Este is a foodie's paradise: delicious Italian dishes that taste like they're straight from your nonna's kitchen at the same time like a Michelin start restaurant. The chefs really know how to make you happy.

Villa D'Este is a magical experience. If you're into good food, amazing views, and feeling like royalty, this is the Place. It's like a dream come true in Italy.
