I really liked this place.
We saw 2 temporary exhibitions and 1 permanent exhibition.
The temporary ones were : an exhibition of a Vietnamese artist Thao Nguyen Phan, Reincarnations of Shadows.
Second one - an exhibition of a an American conceptual artist James Lee Byars.
The most interesting for me was a permanent exhibition - Anselm Kiefer. For me his pieces talk themselves and they make the spectator think.
I think that means that it's the real art.

A must visit.

Though on the map it looks miles away from the centre - it is just one metro line all the way to the end (last station but one).

I would recommend renting one of the many electric bikes outside the station and cycle to the venue. It will cut a 15min walk to 3mins.

Renting the electric bikes can be done on the app (Lime I think). There is a bike path for the vast majority of the trip.

The venue is free and even if you don’t like the art the venue is Huge! And quite impressive. The installations are all very interactive. You can complete the experience in about 45 mins.

And electric bike have be taken from the station to the venue and back - it is about a 3 min bike rental.

The show was great! The space itself is not depressant, which means that you don’t feel pressed walking inside. They have the ceiling window which light up the room, creating a natural light shadow contrast. Anyway, one of the greatest exhibition space in Milan.

Really big site for huge installation from different artists, and it is free admission. There is a lovely cafe on the right hand side of the entrance. It offers a lot of seats (both indoor & outdoor) Audience could grab coffee, tasty toast or salad after the tour.

For broke students like me looking for some solace intertwined with dynamic and contemporary art, this place is a sanctuary. I often find the art pieces here very stimulating and sometimes even disturbing - one of the reasons I make sure to visit every exhibition held here. Also, the Bicocca neighbourhood has a nice post-industrial vibe and is pleasant to visit. Glad that entry is free!

Beautiful and big museum that takes about 10 min walk from the subway. Depending on the exhibition you can really enjoy the space. They also have nice bar to relax at afterwards

Best contemporary art museum in Milan. Industrial spaces converted into exhibition spaces able to host works of art on a large scale. The temporary exhibitions are very well curated, avoiding commercial, "blockbuster" artists. The permanent collection hosts beautiful monumental works by the artist Anselm Kiefer.

Amazing place to contemporary art lovers. The permanent exhibition of Anselm Kiefer is truly mesmerizing. The entrance is free of charge. The access is a bit difficult by public transport but it is absolutely worth the effort. I go here whenever I am in Milan and I highly recommend it.

It's a beautiful exhibit and all the pieces are just wonderful. . I especially liked the third exhibit labelled 'The seven heavenly palaces' by Anselm Kiefer. The paintings really made me rethink and wonder the illusion of being present, yet being a tiny particle that makes up the whole!

Unmissable place! Not only for contemporary art lovers but for everyone who needs to take a break from the hectic city life. Nice for a Sunday brunch with kids.
Ps- I’m sorry for Cattelan’s exhibition!

As someone who loves to visit contemporary art museum, it's great to see those super large size artworks beging displayed. (Coming from a country with limited land) absolutely loving the space and the works. It's free admission but there's always donation boxes around the entrance. It's a little bit out of the way but easily accessible by train and bus .
