Our stay at Castel Fragsburg was simply idyllic. This place is truly enchanting. We can't praise the merits of this extraordinary hotel enough.

It all began when my partner proposed to me at the fairy tale garden of the hotel's castle. It was a magical experience, with enchanting decor, a romantic atmosphere, and a sumptuous picnic. My future husband clearly scored major points with our friends and family through this unforgettable proposal :) We recommend this place to all lovers looking to create magical memories.

Every dish was a culinary masterpiece, prepared with exceptional passion and creativity. The flavors were absolutely amazing, and the service was impeccable.

The hotel’s pool is a haven of peace and relaxation. Surrounded by the mountains, it offers breathtaking panoramic views.

Overall, our stay at Castel Fragsburg was absolutely perfect. The place, the service, the food, everything exceeded our expectations.

Magical. I think Fragsburg is the best hotel at which I have ever stayed. Idyllic setting nestled in between apple orchards and vineyards in the hills above Merano. The property itself is impeccably designed - you feel like you're staying at someone's (very nice, very large) home. Food was great - both the tasting menu and a la carte - and the included breakfast spread was delicious.

The staff are so professional and friendly, and the limited number of guest rooms ensures personal attention and at times you feel like you're the only one staying at the property (in a good way).

Castel Fragsburg provides an unbelievable experience that seems to transport you to another time while providing a luxurious experience and unparalleled service. The rooms are filled with charm and all the amenities you could want (including a soaking tub in the bathroom with a view of the mountains!). The entire property is well maintained, with a focus on relaxation and connecting to nature.

The staff may be the highlight of the entire stay. Any question or request was received with a smile and prompt response. The lengths to which the staff went to to ensure our stay was perfect was incredible - including Ruth’s help to book a last minute manicure for my wife the day before our wedding (Among many other things)!

The on-site restaurant was amazing! Fine dining with food that was both delicious and a culinary experience. Corrado’s service really made our wedding night dinner with service that was professional yet warm and friendly.

I would give Castel Fragsburg 10 out of 5 stars if I could. Can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely incredible experience. The hotel is beautiful, the castle next door is incredible and slowly being renovated. The food was outstanding as chef Egon Heiss creates fantastic meals with local ingredients. Alexander Ortner and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience for our wedding and reception and we look forward to returning for an anniversary!

I normally stick to sushi reviews (at the sushi legend.com), but owing to the fact that my wife and I continue to reminisce about our trip to Castel Fragsburg, an unforgettable hotel just outside Merano, I felt a quick hotel review was warranted.

I've been fortunate to stay at many, many wonderful places across the planet. What puts CF into the top drawer is how seamlessly it blends into its remarkable surroundings. The view from virtually every room, across the valley, is unparalleled. But finding the location comes at a price; 3 hours by car from the nearest airport, or in our case, 6 hours (and 3 changes) by train from Milan. That barrier to entry is what keeps CF 'special' - I can only imagine the difference in service, in vibe and in food, if rather than 20 other guests, there was 200. If rather than the predominantly pseudo-local - and respectful - guests, it was loud and brash tourists instead.

Fortunately, that wasn't the case. Guests who do make the journey are appreciative. Appreciative of the beautiful rooms, accessible activities (we made use of the e-bikes into Merano), wonderful cuisine (that breakfast...), serene pool and tub, and, above all else, the friendly staff. We visited in mid-October, off-season but best if you prefer your space like we do.

If you are debating on wether or not to stay here, think no longer...go ahead and treat yourself because you will not be disappointed.
This was one of our favorite hotels we’ve ever stayed at. My husband and I booked the deluxe suite for two nights and added dinner and breakfast for both days.
The staff was very warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay special. From little treats at arrival to wiping down our windshield before we drove to the airport - truly a 5 star experience.
If you do stay here make sure you dine at the restaurant. The dinner changes every evening so It felt fun and new even the second time around!
As for breakfast, I’ve never seen a spread like It. You truly have to experience It to understand.
While my husband and I like to change cities every time we travel, we will be going back to Meran just to stay at this little gem!

Superb location, incredible views of the Dolomites from the terrace and outstanding service. One the best breakfast I have ever tasted and a Michelin Star restaurant serving amazing dishes from the region.

Amazing place. Luxury and freedom. Food is so tasty you cannot stop eating. Recommend for any ocasion. I spent my homeymoon week in there and it was wonderful.

I first discoverd Castel Fragsburg in the year 2000 and ever since it has been at the top of my lists as place to visit in Europe. The views are stunning, the hotel staff are true professionals, and each and every visit to this wonderful hotel in South Tyrol has been an unforgettable experience!!!
