Porta San Tomaso

A beautiful gate that can go along well with the Arches of Triumph yet to be found in more countries of Europe, especially that it shares the same model used for the decorations that can be seen on this one.

It's a big wall like an entrance goin inside the city and soround by shop's left and right also un front you can see the flowing water goin around too

An historic and ancient heritage, it was the access gate to enter the ancient medieval Treviso city back in the middle age, due to the city was surrounded by walls, La Porta di San Tomaso still lays in the middle of the walls that you can see running through several kilometres along and surrounding the entire ancient city. It's really exciting to see how these walls and this gate have survived many centuries and they're still standing. A great piece of history with a very unique baroque architecture

Historic landmark and, arguably, the most famous amongst the many "gates" that surround Treviso old town. Other famous places nearby are "Piazza del Grano" (which includes Borgo Mazzini and piazza Matteotti) and piazzale Burchiellati both of which host the local market on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
