We came here for dinner!
Ordered for starters tuna and salmon tartars and ravioli with strawberries (I know, sounds strange) and they were very delicious!
For second course we ordered Fiorentino steak. Made a mistake by ordering in medium as it should be eaten medium rare. It was delicious, that’s for sure, but not as it can be.
FYI - steak can be ordered minimum 1kg, but also has a big T bone and for 2 super hungry people size is perfect to leave this place with full bellies!
Restaurant is cosy, with large paintings on the walls.
Staff is friendly, helped to choose what to eat and how to pair wines.
Overall good experience!

Great culinary experience original dishes surprising form of serving interesting combination of textures and taste. Everything perfectly balance. We decided to taste artichoke with buratta as appetizer and as a main course vegetables with mozzarella and guinea fowl with potatoes. Dessert was completed with walnut tiramisu and Vanilla mousse in Black chocolate. All this accompanied by beautiful Italian music and a beautiful garden.

My father and I chose this restaurant for the setting and the images shared on Google. However, we were even more surprised when we arrived at how beautiful, homely and ambient it was. Our wonderful host, Alessio, was so kind and looked after us so well. We sat talking for ages and never once did he make us feel like we needed to leave. We had the most delicious octopus, lobster linguine and tuna steak. The food was out of this world. And, as expected, the wine options were endless and delicious. Highly reccomend.

Beautiful restaurant, great service and great food. We had the bistecca alla Fiorentina, which was the best, we really recommend trying this dish here. Service was great, personal and informative about the regional wine selection. Would definitely come here again when in the area!

Fantastic evening. Came on a quiet Thursday night in spring with family (3 kids 5-11). Gorgeous art. Welcome Prosecco for adults and blood orange juice for kids.

Dithered by the wine display, debated the year of the bottles with the proprieter. Was rewarded when he decided to tell me his favorite wine, the 2018 Cignale, "better than the Tignanello" and only 62E. Was powderful, intense, outstanding. Google shows its very hard to get it the US and $85 for a supposedly inferior 2017 vintage from the few importers that have it.

Dinner proceeded with a salumi platter for youngest, pasta pomodoro and ragu for older kids. The salumi was on another level. The white lard/guanciale was dressed with lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper and was transcendent.

Adults antipasti was a seafood and grilled radicchio with burnt onion and creme. Incredible balance in the very strong flavors. But then the crispy artichoke... so much concentrated flavor in the dips/spreads. Burrata for fat and then a choice of anchovy in olive oil or an intensely concentrated tapenade. Spent 25 minutes working through it savoring the flavors. Meanwhile the Cignale refreshed the palette.

Secondi was a seafood platter and osso bucco. Both excellent. Already killed the bottle so asked for a good red by the glass. Proprietor decided to open his second favorite bottle and pour by the glass at 8E each. Not the usual 6 Italian pours to a bottle but solid quarter bottle each. Lighter style but still very round and balanced.

Four desserts. All good but standout was, once again, at the top of the menu, vanilla spumoni with berries encased in chocolate. Some comped dessert wine and then a warmed glass of cognac.

Taxi was hard to get so the chef drove us home. Bill was 265E. Added a cash tip because the value was truly excellent. Would be happy to pay $500 in Los Angeles, if you could even get this quality. Best meal and dining experience we have had in Italy (there is competition) and I can't recall a better overall Italian meal I've had in life. 6 stars out of 5.

Very delicious dishes and very welcoming staff. It was the best food we had in Florence. The couscous was soft and yet not mushy. Risotto, gnocchi, steak and the peppery stew were perfection. Loved the attention to detail in every dish! The outdoor seating is comfortable even under light rain.

My new fiancé Keri and I had a fabulous dinner last night. The atmosphere was very romantic, the food was incredible, and our server Rajime was very attentive and provided great recommendations. We had the caprese salad, filet of beef, and the pistachio dessert. All were uniquely prepared and delicious! We highly recommend this place.

We had our wedding rehearsal at Il Battibecco and the restaurant could not be any more accommodating for a party of 50. They had a beautiful setup outside, fantastic service, and a great value for a four course meal with wine. The chef and owner even dropped off some guests after having some challenges finding a taxi in the area. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent restaurant. Wide car park, the scenery is beautiful.
Typical Italian food. Much choice on the menu, many courses to try, matching wine.
The staff has the sense of service, they also speak French and English.
An adress to bookmark.

The restaurant is great! A lovely menu, which differs a little from the Tuscan restaurants in the neighborhood. The service is also great! And the atmosphere is the finishing touch! So, when you're around, a lovely place to go to!

We were here for a friend's wedding. I usually expect wedding food to be a bit unremarkable at best, but here I ate a few things which were quite outstanding. My favourite thing of all were some crostini with pureed chickpeas, cavolo nero and a wonderfully pungent olive oil. I assume most of the menu was specially made for the wedding feast, but I would be surprised if their regular menus aren't also really good, as their chefs clearly understand how to get the best out of their ingredients.

Lost in the countryside around Florence, Il Battibecco is one of those hidden gems that you can find only if someone local takes you there. The restaurant is truly great, located in the middle of a beautiful garden, extremely well kept by the owners. Dante and Gianni (the owners) are really special, the take care of everything stating from the food to the decorations, and the are really great guests welcoming all the patrons and entertaining them during the meals chatting and telling jokes. A very nice place with a solid cuisine and great scenery.
