One of the oldest and biggest stone structures of Iran, although not well preserved, some parts of the outer wall and stair remain intact.

The Anahita Temple is the second largest stone structure in Iran after Persepolis, located in the city of Kangavar in Kermanshah province. The height of this building is 32 meters compared to the 6 surrounding land. The entrance of the building has two-sided stairs that are on the south side of the building and in the northern part, there are one-sided stairs that lead to the temple building. In ancient Iran, Anahita was considered as a guardian of water, an angel of abundance, beauty and fertility and had a very high status. The temple of Anahita, which was used to worship the goddess of water in ancient Iran, dates back to centuries BC.

The Anahita Temple is the name of one of two archaeological sites in Iran popularly thought to have been attributed to the Anahita, a gaurd angel of water.
