Panakala Narasimha Swamy - God Who Drinks Panakam.
This temple is a very hoary temple and a holy one near vijayawada. A very special temple of Lord Narasimha where he drinks Panaka or jaggery water from his devotees. You can buy the jaggery water by buying a ticket and will give it to the priest .
The priest will then feed the lord the panaka of which he takes in half and gives out another half as prasadam. For me it was an experience to visit this place. the temple is very serene and peaceful. the temple authorities have made arrangements for peaceful conduct of this and you will get the glass of panaka once you come out as prasadam.

Very beautiful temple located in mangalgiri. Temple is believed to have been founded by Yudhisthira, the eldest Pandava brother. The temple’s tall eleven story gali gopuram was amazing. It is one of the highest gopuram in south India and only one of its type in this part of India. It is 153 feet in height and 49 feet wide.
Very divine place to visit and so calm atmosphere inside the temple.

I have visited this place on weekday and there were not so many people.. Temple was neat and there was shiva temple as well beside it..

Very nice temple, gopuram view was so good, we have seen so many parrots sitting on gopuram. There was no queue, we went on sunday.

It is diguva narasimha temple and yeguva narasimha temple is located on hill top, which is panakala narasimha temple.

We have take darshan of yeguva narasimha temple first and then diguva narasimha temple. They were selling pulihora prasad. There were bangaru and vendi balli in this temple.

The history of this temple is, During the Dwapara Yuga, the Pandavas were in aranyavasam. At that time Pandavas before going to Agnyathavasam, they visited "Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple", which is located the upper reaches of aranyavasam. When the time comes to go Agnyathavasam, they established Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy to Saligrama Swarupam appearance and which is located lower reaches.
In the 16th century by the ruler of Vijayanagara empire, "Sri Krishna Devarayualu'', build a temple for "Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy". East gali gopuram was built by "Sri Raja vasireddy venkatadri Naidu garu, in 1807-1809 and this gali gopurami is the tallest 153 feets in total south india. In AD1558, the king of Orissa "Sri Siddhiraju Rajaiah Devara", gave 200 wages in 28 villages to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha swami. In 8th century "Sri sankaracharyulu" varu, In AD1512 the lord "Sri chaitanya varu", In AD 1594 Golkonda fort general "Qutub Ali" visited this temple. In Dhanurmasam Vaikuntha Ekadashi day Sri Swami gives darshan to the devotees from the north gate. On Vaikuntha Ekadashi Thanjavur Maharaja sirphoji - II, ( Donated on 20-11-1824) Shristhalam presents Sankhutitirtha to the devotees with a single golden south- facing conch shell presented to them.

Very nice temple. Located at the foothills of the panagala narasimha swamy temple mangalagiri. Beautiful gopuram at the entrance. The deity is so beautiful to see and worship.

Very historic temple with a big gopuram. Visited here and prayed to lord Narasimha. Temple premises are big and parking is a problem here because of narrow streets. The architecture of the temple is beautiful. We could not visit the temple on the hill top because after 4 pm it was closed

The lord Narasimha Swamy is swayambhu in yeguva means on hill..he stays and he gives blessings for your family...one of the best temple to visit in Andhra Pradesh.

Very Ancient Temple of Lord Narsima Swami and lordess in the city of Guntur-Vijayvada. In this place there are two temple one is on the ground (taleti) and other is on the top of mountain. There is history known in locals that lordess siting on the mountain which has volcano inside and lordess is holding the volcanic eruption. Hence holy water is offered to godess (mataji). Very Popular and well maintained temple. Must visit in you are in nearby.

This temple is really cool. I went around 12:30 pm for darshan and within minutes we entered the temple and come out with in 15minutes after seeing all the archeological beauties of Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy( Avatar of Lord Vishnu).

Archeological construction of the temple is really beautiful. High walls and high doors

A huge well was inside the temple compound which was locked. It is decorated with golden sheet on the wall around it. There was one end with silver lizards ...one who can touch and it's a saying that touching that idol of silver lizard will free you from all Sins.

If you are in or around Vijayawada, you can pay a visit and have a good experience.

Awesome temple to visit if you are in the Guntur - Vijayawada region. A very ancient temple with Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at the foot hills and Panakala Narasimha Swamy on the top of the hill.
This temple has 5 gopuras as you can notice inside.
The temple is open from 5am to 1pm and 4pm to 8pm.
The idols of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy look so beautiful and divine.
You should visit the Panakala Narasimha Swamy temple on the top of the hill before 4pm.
